I am fairly new to this website and was reading through the K1 guide, which recommended that the fiance take a complete copy of the K1 petition to the interview. I filed our petition in June and used a visa service to prepare the petition, but they did not recommend that I make a copy before it was submitted (they compiled everything that I submitted to them, all we had to do was sign). My question is, is it really necessary to have the complete copy taken to the interview? I do have copies of most of everything that was in the petition (passport pages, travel proofs, affidavit promising that we would marry within 90 days, pictures of us together) but not the bigraphical forms that we had to sign (the G forms), since the service I hired completed those for us. I wish that I had found this website earlier. I think I could have done everything myself if I had had this information before.
When you submit the affidavit of support, how many years of tax returns do you need to include? I have heard that it is a good idea to include the past three years returns. Since I have spent so much time overseas with my fiance these past three years, my income from those time periods do not meet the requirements. I just started a new job this year, and my annual salary would be in the mid 20s. I believe my current salary would be enough, but I'm not sure of the present income requirements. I plan on getting a letter from my employer, but his interview is in April, so it would only show that I've been earning my present income since the beginning of this year. Should I get a co-sponsor? What are the requirements for a co-sponsor?
I have a question that hopefully someone can help me with. I submitted a K1 petition on behalf of my fiance, who lives in Ghana, and his interview is in April. I just need to know what are the most important proof of relationship documents that are required. We have a variety of documents (a few letters, pictures, phone records, but mostly e-mails) that span from 2006, when we first met, to present. Do the officers put more weight to certain documents than others? How much should we submit? I am thinking to print every e-mail and phone record that we have, as well as copies of all our letters and pictures, but I'm just not sure of how much is enough. Any advice anyone can give would be wonderful.
P.S. I forgot to mention that I do have my travel documents from the three trips that I have taken to Ghana, in 2006 when we first met, and then in 2007 and 2008. I have kept all of my boarding passes and trip iteneries (sp?). We only have about 5 or 6 good pictures of us together, only from the 2007 and 2008 trips because we had camera issues and just weren't focused on taking a lot of pictures. Will this be a problem? Are there any other important proofs that we will need to submit?

Letter from wife to petition on my behalf + the required fees($465 + $80 biometric fees = $545)
what else can I think of? lol! Somebody should help.
...and she said it happens all the time. I've done some research and Ghana has some of the longest waits for interviews but then others who have done research say it's odd that I've waited more than a month (these are Ghana filers). The NVC automated line asks you to talk to an operator if it has been more than eight weeks. The operator just gives you the same tired, scripted response that they schedule interviews based on embassy capacity blah blah blah. I suppose I just want to rant. But anywhoo....anyone been waiting more than eight weeks? What steps did you take to get scheduled? Allah be praised if we're scheduled this week, we've been waiting so looong.
Hi everyone, received NOA2 approval by email 2/6/09. received my NOA2 hard copy in the mail today!!! Called NVC today & spoke with operator who gave me my case number. YAY!!!!! NOW WHAT DO I DO???? they said it would take 4-6 weeks to generate ds-3032, is that true?? I have all my documents ready, my husband has requested his police certificate. whats next??? thanks everyone.
Hi everyone i have what may or may not be a (silly question) but here goes. when using the barcode instructions for the DS3032 form. after creating the barcode do i Literally CUT out the barcode with scissors and glue it to my DS-3032 form. or when it says cut and paste they mean using the computer application (cut and paste). the barcode seems very small after i create it on the ID Automation. im not very computer saavy, LOL.
Ive also read that some people have just handwritten their NVC case # in BLACK MARKER in the space. Is this also acceptable. Im the USC, so im having to get all of these documents together for my husband, who by the way c an not type, HATES EMAILING, and I KNOW he would screw up emailing the DS3032 anyway.
What is the easiest way for me to handle this. He will get the original DS3032 in ghana, sign it and i guess fax it to me and i express mail the fax copy off to NVC. will they accept a fax copy with his signature or they want the original form with signature.
I appreciate any replies, thanks so much. Congratulations to all of you that have been approved and good luck to those of you still waiting. Thanks again for your help. Van
Hi Everyone, I have found out through past relationships and with talking to friends and acquaintances that cheating is defined differently for different people. It is subjective. I personally will be more hurt if my SO found a confidant in another female friend and shared his hopes and fears with her. More so than if they slept together. Sounds stupid I know. but please share with me what you consider cheating.
I need help. Do I have to have a traditional engagement before my fiancee goes for his interview? We decided not to do that but instead save the money for us to get married when he gets here. But I'm worried that they may ask for proof of engagement at the embassy in Ghana when my fiancee goes for his interview. Please help me on this. I'm worried.

Hi everyone, i checked USCIS website, i was TOUCHED TODAY, please pray for me that i have an approval on the way this time, and NO MORE RFE"s. Good luck to those of you still waiting, and congratulations to those of you recently approved.
I received an RFE in the mail today for a new medical for my husband's AOS. Here is what it says:
QUOTE
New Medical Form I-693: Please submit a properly completed and signed Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. A new version of the medical form I-693 (Revised 06/05/08, or after) is required to be submitted by any applicant whose medical examination was conducted on or after June 01, 2008. The old version of the medical Form I-693 will not be accepted if the medical exam was conducted in or after that date. The medical examination must be conducted by a physician who is on the list of Civil Surgeons approved by USCIS.
We DID use the new form that they asked for BUT I think the reason we got the RFE is because of the dates. My husband completed his medical in Decmeber 2007, so we are within the 1 year mark. He completed the vaccinations on Feb 12, 2008, which, on his vaccination card is written as 12/2/08 (they are written backwards in Ghana). When we got the records transcribed, the CS wrote in 12/2/08 which reads here as Decemeber 2, 2008, but the CS signed the I-693 on 8/21/08.
Also, I called customer service and talked to an IO. He seemed to think that it would be OK if I just resent what we have with a letter explaining the mix up.
Now, I am thinking that I should send another copy of the I-693 along with a copy of my husband's vaccination card (which had all the dates and they will see that the dates are written dd/mm/yyyy and not mm/dd/yyyy).
Hi VJ family, can someone please explain this to me: i frequently check the immigration timeline and their is an area off to the right side that says: APRROXIMATE PROCESSING DATE FOR COMMON FORMS, at 1:05pm this afternoon its says for the I-130 CR1/IR1 (CSC) they are processing the dates SEPT 07-08. last night when i checked it showed sept 7 08, but this morning it showed august 27-08.
Ive noticed that this date changes, thruout the day. does anyone know why?? i submitted my I-130 on Sept 11-08, so when i saw they were processing sept 7-08, i became excited. (thinking they're getting close to my date).
So, if anyone out there knows the answer to that, id aprreciate it. Thanks so much.
Hi everyone, congratulations to any recent approvals. i have a question, im still at the early stage, waiting on my I-130 approval, hopefully by next month. i have noticed with the country of GHANA mostly, that applicants are waiting anywhere from 4-6months for an interview,(after their approval) then are put into AP, then are rescheduled for a 2nd and even 3rd interview. can someone please explain to me why this happens and why is it mostly for the GHANA petitioners. whats going on or not going on at that embassy.
Im following the tracking and its very obvious. as you can see from my timeline, im also a GHANA petitioner so im kind of worried. thanks so much for any response. Prayers to those still waiting. Van
We just returned from getting our taxes filed at H&R Block. The tax preparer insisted that unless Samuel could show his green card that he is a non-resident alien. I did a significant amount of reading before we went and I even tried to show her the tax publication. She politely told me that she knew her job. My questions are: Will this come back to haunt us later, or should I leave this alone since we will receive a very nice refund?
Next question, I checked our AOS status today and the date was changed back to January 12th? Has anyone experienced this and what was the outcome?
Oh Happy Day! We have made it through the first big hurdle! I was shocked to have received an email today indicating that the approval notice was sent out today. I was feeling a little blue today - I could not have asked for a better gift to come my way today. Thank you my Heavenly Father!
I received the following RFE email and I want to know some of the things I can send them besides the staetement of intent and the boarding pass. Also please let me know how long it takes for USCIS to resume working on a case once they receive the RFE documents. I don't know what they want yet. Please help.
