Naturalization & Green card renewal - timing?

Hi there!

My 10-year GC is expiring in May so I need to file an I-90 for replacement, but I also want to file a N-400 to apply for citizenship (I've been eligible for a while).

Should I send in my GC replacement application first? Does the timing matter? Just wondering if it's okay to file both at the same time.

EDIT: I just noticed that the USCIS website says that expiring GCs are automatically extended for 24 months when you file an N-400 - is that real? Here's the wording on the website:

Quote

f you currently have a Green Card and properly file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, we will automatically extend the validity of your Green Card for up to 24 months from the Card Expires date listed on your permanent resident card.

Hello everyone,

I moved my case from Beirut BRT to Paris PRS late October, they took the case in less then a week and scheduled my interview. I did my interview on the 22 nd of November, all went well. I got a case number ending by PRS at the end and this case number was Issued a week after my interview. I thought this was great and I would get an email to go pickup my Passport in Paris by the VIsa courrier next.

Little do I know... the next day they added a case number to my file as you guys can see and this one now has BRT again at the end and shows " Transfer in Progress "

Anyone knows what it means? Could they have done my interview without my file ? doesn't seem logical to me. Is it traditional to have such movement after an issued visa ?

And also, if someone simply can validate to me that normaly the next step is the email by the courrier once a visa is issued ?

Ty guys.

SSN application timeline question

My fiancee is planning to come to the US on her K1 Visa, November 20, 2023, to Texas. My plan is to go to request a marriage license before the Thanksgiving holiday closes the offices and schedule marriage at the courthouse early December.

My thoughts are that we can wait to apply for a SSN after the wedding so that she can change her last name at the same time without having to go back to the SSN to do a name change. By early December, that should be enough time for her to be in the "SAVE" system (I think it's called).

Does anyone see any potential problems with this logic? Thank you.

Hi!
Quick question: Applying for citizenship with a ROC pending, should we flag it to USCIS? Sending them over NOA for ROC?
Both of my cases are in MyUSCIS, but wondering if I need to upload NOA for ROC under my N400 application... or as I guess they have access to my whole history with them using my Allien number, there is no need for me to flag it.

Hello everyone !

It's been a while I haven't post anything. We are still waiting to pays the NVC fees to not get the ITW too early as we are planning to leave early of May (Probably 5/02/2024)!

I have a few questions, here there are :

1 : I guess the waiting time from being DQ'd at NVC to the ITW being scheduled is pretty fast in Paris ?

2 : By the way, I should get the 10 years GC as we got married the 4/30/2022, right ? (Even if it's 2 days past the 2 years rule)

3 : Do you know how long does it takes to exchange a driving license ? ( French )

4 : We already know that we will go to Seattle, WA at the end of June 2024, what addresses we should give the immigration ? The DMV ? The IRS ? We will stay in my wife's family houses either in Massachusetts and Washington.

5 : I assume this is not a problem for the immigration to get to Massachusetts for 2 months then go to Seattle, WA ?

Thank you in advance for the answers !

Denis.
