Hi,

I have two different cases.

case 1, I-130 case doesn't have an access code to link to myUSCIS

I filed I-130 for my mother who lived outside of US via mail on 11/23/23, I received I-797 on 12/01/23. When I try to link the case number to my USCIS account it says it belongs to a different USCIS account, then I try to link it with my mom's account, and it asks for an access code, but that I-797 doesn't have one. I spoke with a USCIS agent on 12/15/23, she said the case is not showing up in her system and asked me to wait 30 days after 12/01/23. Now on 01/03/23, it says the case is actively being reviewed, but it still requires an access code to link to my mom's account. I wonder does anyone has such experience?

case 2, no digital receipt notice for 20 days after USCIS received the filing package

I mailed concurrent I130, I485, I131 packages for my father to the Chicago office on 12/14 via USPS, it shows delivered on 12/17. I included G-1145 form, but I haven't received the case acceptance notice till now (01/05). Although it is the end of the year with lots of holidays I wonder if such a long wait time is normal for concurrent filing. And if it still doesn't make any progress what should be the next step?

Thanks for any help.

Pre Interview Checklist

Hello, my partner and I just received our interview date for January 2024. We have been looking over the document requirements and had a few clarifying questions for a few of the documents. Sorry if some of the questions seem dumb or idiotic, we are just stressed that we may accidently forget something and wanted other's opinions/thoughts. Thank you in advance!

For the record, we are getting our information from https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/GUZ-Guangzhou.html#pre_interview_checklist

In terms of affidavits of financial support - some background: we ended up filling out an I-864 for me and my dad (joint sponsor). We also submitted a I-864A for my mom.

1) This means we will need to bring the IRS tax transcript for the 2022 Tax Year for my mom, dad, and I. My mom and dad have the same transcript as they filed jointly. In addition, we will also be bringing the appropriate tax returns/W2s/Schedules/etc in case they need them, but understand that this is extra and may not be needed.

2) Proof of my status and my parents' status in the USA: using passports

3) Proof of domicile of my parent's status and mine in the USA: Bring utility bills, credit card statements, etc <--- is this necessary? Or are tax forms sufficient?

4) On the website, it reads "Affidavit of Support Photocopies: The affidavit of support must account for all applicants on the petition. Each derivative family member needs to bring one (1) photocopy of the principal applicant s affidavit(s) of support. If each applicant has their own individual petition, each affidavit of support must include that applicant s own name."

What does this mean? Is this just indicating the I-864 and I-864A forms, or is it indicating something else?

Also, in one of the emails the NVC sent to us when our case was first created: it said this "Please Note: You must bring the exact original of any scanned document you upload to CEAC that NVC accepts to your immigrant visa interview. Failure to bring the exact original you uploaded to CEAC may delay the processing of your case."

However, in the instructions on the website, it said that photocopies are allowed. Does this mean we need to bring original copies of me and my parents' passports and utility bills? Or are photocopies of those okay?

Lastly, I just wanted to make sure that for the photographs and birth certificates, it is asking for the applicant NOT the petitioner. I do need to take any photographs or bring my birth certificate.

Thank you,

James

Signature change during Name Change

I m waiting for the scheduling of my Oath.
In my N-400 application and interview, I requested a full name change due to persistent errors in official documents caused by the length of my current name. Despite signing all application papers, including the N-400 interview agreement, with my existing signature, I wonder if I can adopt a new signature for my naturalization oath certificate, considering my old signature corresponds to my previous name.

Anyone else recently file an I-90 to renew their 10 year green card? If so, how long did it take before you received it?

I485 and 131 mailing address different

The mailing address provided for my Form I-485 is my friend's house.

(because previously I put my own apartment address, but the apartment number was consistently truncated...).

But the physical address for Form I-485 is written as my own apartment address.

I plan to apply for Form I-131 Advance parole recently, but looking at Form I-131, it only asks for the physical address, and it can only be mailed to the physical address.

I am wondering is it okay if the mailing address for Form I-131 is different from the mailing address for Form I-485? (But I will make sure that the physical addresses are the same.)

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?
Seeking advice! Thank you.
