  1. Chose counsellor processing, NVC completed processing and Visa interview scheduled in April @ mumbai consulate. The email for the appointment does not say anything about biometrics, however one of the instruction pages linked suggests to schedule a biometrics appointment.
  2. Both parents got approved, case is now with NVC. Hope everyone waiting heres something soon.
  3. One parent got approved ..wohoo, the other parent is till under review, even though I applied for both at the same time. 🤔
  4. Ohh nice ! Is there like a number you call or a form you fill for expediting ?
  5. For the folks already in the NVC stage. Do that parents have to show assets or cash in bank for the interview process ? Or is it just my bank balance, assets and income they are looking for since I will be their sponsor in the states ? Also for those already having green card for their parents, how are you handeling insurance for parents ?
  6. I filed in July 2022 for both my parents as well. One saying 4 weeks pending and the other one saying taking longer than expected. Has anyone tried calling USCIS for a status update ? thinking of doing that this week.
  7. Not sure if I should open a new topic for this new question but still a question on I130. Let me know if I need to create a new topic: Question on parents name change: For my mum she changed her middle name and last name after marriage. Also her last name before marriage is spelled incorrectly on her marriage certificate. Correct name and spelling is on her Indian passport. For my dad, his name did not change however there are spelling mistakes for his middle name and last name on his birth certificate which are corrected on his Indian passport. There is this court process in India called name change gazette, which they have gone through representing their previous names used (spelled incorrectly or prior to marriage in case of my mum) and their current name as per their passport. Is this acceptable for I130 application, or is there something else I need to have them provide for the name change. ?
  8. Thanks so much ! I opened the pdf form and it does state it.
  9. My parents have visited the US multiple times on B1/B2 Visitor visa over the last 15 years, never overstayed. Based on that context, trying to understand how to answer these questions on I130 online application under the 'Your Beneficiary' --> 'Immigration Information' section: Q. Was the beneficiary EVER in the United States A. Yes Q. What was the beneficiary's date of Arrival ? A. should this be the last time the beneficiary came to the US ? or should this be left blank ? Q. When does the beneficiary's authorized stay expire ? A. the beneficiary is not in the United states at the moment, so should this be left blank ? or should this be answered in the context of last time the beneficiary came to the US ? Appreciate any feedback.
