DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

Hey everyone, my aunt has filed I-130(F4 category) for my mother 6 years back and i'm listed as a dependent on the application. I'm currently over 21 and wish to go to the us on a f1/f2 visa.

Would me being a dependent in my mother's i130 be an issue for getting f1/f2 visa? If yes, would it be an issue if i'm aged out as well? Thanks!

How long is the wait time for the interview when the case already arrived at the beneficiary's home country (2024)

We received the online NOA2 approval today but not the actual mail yet, my fianc and I were trying to calculate the estimated time for the whole visa process. There are a lot of data here to use so we were able to estimate that in 106 days the visa will be in Manila US embassy, however we couldn't find any information on how long the wait time is for when we are able to schedule the interview. Does anyone know the actual step by step process for NVC to Manila US Embassy (or your beneficiary's home country)? There are a lot of articles but it can be confusing, I read that the letter from NVC will inform the petitioner to tell the beneficiary to apply for DS-160 right away. So when the NVC letter arrives, and the beneficiary applied for DS-160, does that lead to scheduling the interview date already? or the beneficiary will still wait for the embassy's mail before she can schedule the interview?

    Please help, thank you.

    Administrative Processing for K1 fiance

My fianc 's K1 fianc visa is currently undergoing administrative processing, his interview was in Beirut Lebanon on March 19th, 2024. I'm sure everyone knows the unfortunate conflict that is taking place in Lebanon currently and my fiance and his family had escaped and fled from southern Lebanon since beginning of October to find safety. We were obviously extremely upset once we found out the visa had to go through administrative processing because #1 we want to finally be with each other and start our lives together and 2 which is so important I want to get my fianc to safety and bring him over to me. He has been impacted heavily during this conflict with him fleeing from his home and his family's home getting damaged due to the bombardments around it. It has been such a traumatizing hard time recently and not knowing when we will hear back from them about his visa is absolutely heart shattering. I searched it up what reasons could possibly be counted to expediate his process or hear something back and I saw somewhere where they mentioned a humanitarian reason could be a good reason to have your case expedited. He is suffering from this conflict tremendously wouldn't this be considered a "humanitarian reason"?? I know it has only been a month but the conflict is still going on and were living with extreme anxiety and depression due to it and due to the wait.. Please any advice could help.

    Hello. I currently have a pending I-130, I-485, I-131.

And I already received my work permit.

Recently, I reported my husband for domestic violence.

I'm trying to apply for VAWA green card petition(I-360)

As far as I know, to keep my current pending I-485, I have to file I-360 and file a motion to substitute my current pending I-130.

    It's very urgent for me

I checked USCIS website and google.. but I really can't fine the form/file for a motion.

    Is there a form?

Or can I just write a letter by myself without certain form?

    Please let me know..

The legal aid I'm talking to said I have to wait at least one month to talk to attorney there..

I'm currently staying at domestic violence shelter with no income.

I really want to get through this situation.

Contractor Overseas With Spouse on Orders

    Hello,

I'll be working overseas as a contractor soon.

My wife recently came to the US with me and got her greencard. We will be going to her home country and do not have time for a reentry permit.

I will have 700-19 orders and she will be on them. We called the immigration office on base and they said she will not be given a SOFA stamp because she already has a passport for that country.

I'm wondering the thing about working overseas applies to me being a contractor for the DOD and if it applies to her without getting a SOFA stamp, is having her name on the orders sufficient? We will not have time for her naturalization or reentry permit.

Spouse or Child of a Member of the U.S. Armed Forces or Civilian Employee of the U.S. Government Stationed Abroad - If you are the spouse or child of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces or of a civilian employee of the U.S. government stationed abroad on official orders, you may use your Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551, to enter the United States even if it has expired. Therefore, you would not need a Returning Resident (SB-1) immigrant visa, as long as you:

    • Have not abandoned your LPR status; and
    • Your spouse or parent is returning to the United States.

Does that apply to contractors as well or does it not matter as she will be on the 700-19?

I797C Notice of Action Rejection Notice
I recieved a I-797C Notice of Action rejection Notice for not answering one question. I want to resubmit correcting it. My question is can I resend the 535 cashier check that was stamped by USCIS and sent back to me? And include a second cashier's check with it for the difference for the new filing fee? Is my 535 cashier check still good since no case was processed?

I got a I-797C for failing to answer the very 1st question not intentionally but it happened. My application the fee cashier check was sent back stamped, and my documents was sent all back. It states correct the Appilcation and resubmit. A green page was attach to include when sending. My question is my cashier check still good its for 535 can i still use it and send another one with it for remaining balance for new fee? Do they accept multiple cashier checks to cover the new fee? Or should i get a new cashier check for the new filing fee? Am confused about whether my money is lost from my initial submission that was rejected I have yet to go to bank to see if its been cashed and whether it can be converted to a new one for the new fee.
