Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

2 RepliesMy wifes mothers interview is a couple weeks out, and i got a new job since the start of the new year. My question is do i have to do a new affidavit of support because of the new job? I do make more than i previously did at my old job and just nervous if i have to do a new affidavit of support. Ive heard people say all i need to do is just send last years tax transcripts along with recent paystubs of my new job. Im just wondering if anyone knows what i would need to do since i got a new job. Thanks!

5 RepliesHello all so If my USA partner were to job change before NOA 2 how would we go about that? They are not finding their current workplace to be okay anymore, It has been very stressful for her. I read up that it can cause issues?
What should be done or how would we go about this?
Another thing to add is she wants to go for a job that may be temporary or anything really so income will be very less / not reliable in terms of staying in that job so may have to find another job after?

3 RepliesPlease enlighten me up, my grandparents reside in India and are being called up by my paternal aunt (citizen of the US since 23 years). She told us that my grandparents will receive a document through postman. My aunt received an email in which the visa application appointment details are mentioned but my grandparents residing back in India haven t received any letter or documentation for their medical examination or any letter to bring at the time of interview. What to do now ?

1 RepliesHello guys!
Does anybody from Indonesia in here?, or maybe some of you know how to ship lots of stuff from Indonesia to the USA? Which courier service is the cheapest? How long is it going to take? I will move to the USA around July, and I don't want to bring much stuff on the airplane.
Thank you for your kind attention

6 RepliesCase:
Me (husband): Egypt passport, permanent resident in Canada (where we all currently work and live), will apply for Canadian citizenship in 6 months.
Wife: US citizen (born in US but left with family at 2 years of age)
Son: 5 months old, Canadian citizen, born in Canada and not eligible for US citizenship automatic transfer according to USCIS rules.
Plan 1:
- Wait for my Canadian citizenship (in approx. 9 months) then I can find a software eng. job in US and go on TN visa.
- Son (on visitor or TD visa) and wife will follow.
- Wait 90 days and apply for AOS for me and our son.
- Wife will have established domicile in US and we can use my US income to apply. (In this case, we don t need a co-sponsor?)
Plan 2:
- Apply now from Canada
- Wife will have an issue establishing US proof of domicile (she only has a US passport and SSN).
- It will be hard for my wife to travel to US alone to establish domicile.
- Anything can be done from Canada to prove intent to establish domicile once me and our son get the green card?
Other questions:
- Since our son was not eligible for the automatic US citizenship transfer from his mom, can he get the US citizenship right after his green card is approved (form N600 ?)
