We met in the MMORPG Rappelz in November 2007 when my noob Cleric saw Dave's high-level Chaos Mage ride by and said hi, and he turned his mount around and came back to buff her. We typed to each other in-game over the next few months, both in and out of character. In March 2008, the leader of the guild Dave was in invited me on their Ventrilo server, so we got to hear each other's voices for the first time. We both felt very comfortable talking to each other, and each knew the other was special... though neither was to say so for quite a while.

Over the summer of 2008, we became best friends. I fell in love with Dave, but didn't tell him because at the time I didn't see how it could work, and I didn't want to risk our friendship. Meanwhile Dave had fallen in love with me, and didn't tell me, for much the same reason. X) It all came out over the course of a few sleepless days in November 2008.

The months that followed brought us trials, but we persevered, and came to realise our potential together. In June 2009 we became a couple. We had known for a while that we were perfect for each other. Right away we started discussing meeting in person, which neither of us could do for a few months, and our long-term plans for marriage and family. (That's when I found VJ.)

We met IRL for the first time in October 2009, where I was living in California, the first chance both of us could take a week off work. He proposed the night after we met! We spent a wonderful week together: amusement park, Pacific Ocean, farmers' market, pseudo-camping, shopping, LAN party (of course!), and just enjoying each others' physical presence! After he left, we immediately started planning the second visit, when I was planning to fly from Cali to Connecticut to visit my parents in Jan or Feb.

The more I thought about it, the more I realised I had no attachments to Cali, and we wanted our future children to grow up knowing their grandparents, so in December 2009 I left my job in Silicon Valley and moved back to CT.

On our second visit, Dave met my parents. On Dec 23, Dave asked my father for his blessing regarding our engagement, and found out he had no need to worry, both of my parents like him! Dave proposed to me officially that night, on one knee, I said "I do!" (LOL) then said "Yes" and he slipped the ring on my finger and we hugged.

Together at last! =)
