  • Our Story
G and I "met" in September of 2004 on a site designed for people to practice their English and Spanish called espanglishchat.com.He was learning English and I was learning Spanish. We talked on messenger for a few months and he told me he had feelings for me. I told him he was crazy and I blocked him.

Four months later his account was highjacked and he had to get a new e-mail account. He had lots of people he practiced English with, but my e-mail address was the only one he could remember! So he added me and we started talking. (I had no idea he was the same guy from before.) And we kept talking and kept talking and kept talking! About anything and everything and all the time! We exchanged phone numbers so we could practice our pronunciation. He told me he liked me again and wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend and I told him it could never work cuz he lives in Venezuela and I live in the U.S., weīve never met, etc, etc.

But he didnīt stop trying! And by that time I had already fallen soo very deeply in love with him! I think I was more trying to convince myself instead of him. But he never gave up! And one day I realized that it was so ridiculous not to say yes since he was the only one I could think about! So then I finally came to my senses and said yes on July 11th, 2005! And thatīs how we became official. :)

We got to know each other very well over the next year and a half. It was around that time that I came upon an incredible oppurtunity to study abroad in his home country of Venezuela. We finally met in person on June 23rd, 2007. Seeing him for the first time was the happiest I've ever been in my entire life. We had gotten into an argument because my luggage was late and after having been on a plane all day, I wanted to be showered and look somewhat decent when we met for the very first time- that meant I would have to wait about six hours to see him. He apparently misunderstood me and thought that I didn't have any Intentions on meeting him at all. We hung up the phone. I felt awful and I was pacing around the language school feeling sick. This wasn't how it was supposed to be. All I could do was wait to go to the airport to pick up my luggage and hope that Gabriel would want to talk to me when I got back. I opened the door. My mouth hit the floor. He was standing directly in front of me across the street. My face turned a tomatoey shade of red. I covered my eyes. I thought, I must be dreaming. He motioned for me to come over to him. (to be continued)
