  • Our Story
I was previously married to a Filipina for 26 years until she passed away in 2015. I was enamored with the Filipino culture, lifestyle, traditions, customs, values, and beauty. I wanted another Filipino wife! I first discovered Letecia and made contact with her through FilipinoCupid.com. I invited her to review my online profile and if it strikes her curiosity, we can continue a dialog between us. That invitation proved to be the correct move because it was the start of fantastic relationship. Within a few weeks we escalated to contacting each other outside of FilipinoCupid. We began having video chats on the average of four times a day for an hour plus each call. Our time difference is 12 hours which offers the ability to talk with one another before bed time and upon waking up for each one of us each and every day. We learned a lot about each other's past and desires for the future through the constant and dedicated chat sessions. We had many significant common data points in our lives. For example, we were both married to our previous spouses for 26 years. Each of our spouses died due to a long term serious illnesses. We are both widowers. We are both grandparents. We are both seeking our final long term relationship/marriage. And, we discovered, there are even more common interest points between us. After hundreds of hours of video chatting and texting and emails exchanging photographs, I had personally decided that I really wanted Letecia in my life permanently so I planned a 10-day vacation to Cebu, Philippines to meet her and propose marriage. I made arrangements to stay at the Crimson Resort and Spa in Cebu for our first face-to-face meeting. Our first meeting was at the Mactan airport on Lapu-Lapu and we were both so very excited at our first meeting. Later that evening we had dinner at one of the Crimson Resort four restaurants. It was at this meal we both knew that our match was perfect and we were indeed what the other was looking for in a mate. We spent the entire evening and into the early morning hours talking about ourselves and how we felt about each other. It was a vast relief and a great joy to finally meet each other face to face. On our second night I had planned a formal engagement proposal dinner with a ring. After our very long first night, I knew the engagement dinner was the right move and I felt inspired to do so. We had a fabulous outdoor venue overlooking the ocean cloaked in swaths of curtains hanging from a framed enclosure with many candles and colored lights. We had a wait staff of three and service fit for royalty. It was a very beautiful setup. Letecia graciously and happily accepted my engagement proposal. And so it begins!!
