  • Our Story
I am the USC and currently doing research for my S.O. and I. If anything we are about a year out to file, and just making sure everything is in order when the time is right. We formally met in Aug 2015, I knew of him since May 2015. He is staying at the hotel I worked at and our paths crossed a few times. While delivering something to his room I noticed a StarCraft mouse, and remembered it. I finally had the courage to ask him about it a few months later. We became friends and he informed me about his past, and I still decided I wanted to try to have a relationship with him. We have been spending every weekend with each other and some weekday nights. He entered the USA on a J-1 Visa, and will be leaving to go back to his country in Nov 2016 to take care of legal issues. We want to spend the rest of our lives with each other, but as of right now, the timing is not there.

  1. As we get closer to the 2 year mark, has there been any updates for the U4U to be extended? Recently my step daughter got engaged to her boyfriend that is on U4U, but she is not a US Citizen and they want a long engagement so his possible over stay will not be forgiven. I just want to make sure I didn't miss any important updates. BTW he entered the USA in Sept 2023, so we hopefully will have time.
  2. Filed May 27th 2023, based on 3 year rule. Bio Reused. Notice of Interview July 12th 2023 Interview August 25th 2023 Office is Chatsworth, CA We live in LA county, thought it would take us forever, since the application said it could take 9 months. This is going to sound stupid, but how were the reading, writing and speaking English part go? I know my hubs is afraid of that part.
  3. I couldn't find it anywhere on the husband's USCIS account giving a reason for the no. The document that I saw stated this "TRAVEL NOT AUTHORIZED Your travel authorization has been denied and you are not authorized to travel to the United States under the Uniting for Ukraine process. For more information about alternative pathways that may be available to you, please visit this U.S. Department of State resource page at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/information-for-nationals-of-Ukraine.html" Followed by the wife's personal information: DOB, Alien Number, Passport Number and Status. If we (my hubs and I) were to supply the evidence, we didn't know or it was just simply over looked, I even tried to look on line before hand and couldn't find info till a few days ago. We thought the husband and the wife would have to upload that part since I wasn't given any direct section to upload it to USCIS. I don't know what was asked on the husband's and wife side. It looks like he added them as a "travel group" so I assume being married to a Ukrainian. Sorry got a bit busy with real life and forgot to hit "submit reply"
  4. Here is my situation, hopefully someone can help with this mess. Hubs and I submitted petitions for 3 people, its his friends (husband and wife, wife has a child from a prior marriage. ) Husband is Ukrainian, so is the wife. Wife's Ukrainian passport has expired and has it in her old married name, since then she has gotten Russian citizenship. We tried to apply U4U using her Russian passport, even thought her bio info, at least from our side, stats she was born in Ukraine. All 3 petitions were approved on My hubs and my side. The husband travel docs were approved, the wife was not approved, and the child is still pending. I'm thinking that the government doesn't believe they are married, and hence the denial. Pretty sure she would be approved if she had a current Ukrainian passport. They don't think they can get her an updated passport mainly because they went into Russia, so they want me to see if we can use her Russian passport and get her a new Ukrainian one if/when she enters the USA. My hubs and I didn't help him with their side. I did some research (tried to find websites, YouTube, and even this forum and thread pages 1-21 and 47-51), but some random website said to upload their marriage certificate after we submit the i-134a as some unsolicited documents. I'm assuming we need to resubmit all 3 petitions again, and make sure I just upload: the marriage certificate, the divorce certificate, and the birth certificate with possible a letter explaining their situation. (They will bring a letter from the ex husband giving permission for the child to leave Russia before they leave) My hubs and I are planning having him share PC screens when he fills his side out to make sure we aren't some how missing something. Anyone have any thought?!
  5. Just submitted my Hub's N-400 petition, would have done it sooner but needed some documents and him sign papers for translations. He sadly was on a business trip out of state for over 2 months. Within the hour we got his Receipt Notice and them reusing his BIOs, thankfully since he had to go back out of state for business for the next 5 weeks Really hoping this business trip wont hurt us. He was here at home for 10 days before going back. I'm excited since soon we will finally have the same country!
  6. It is good news, everyone has been stressed out, even put in expedites with no luck. They(ex-wife and daughter) have gotten hurt at work and lost what little work they were able to get in Poland, their employer even took the money that Poland sent for them. =\ We sent them extra money to make sure they were able to take a few weeks off from work to let them rest. Even over the summer time her mom and her applied to move to Canada, they got approved, and last month they got their passports stamped for them to be able to move there, then we got this news, even thought I was highly encouraging hubs to push them move to there =\ Hubs has been trying to contact an immigration lawyer that is related to his manager, we haven't gotten a reply back from them at all. (Been at it for nearly a month now) Glad we don't need that now. His ex-wife even planted the idea into their daughter's head that we don't want her to be living with us and if we did she would have been already living with us. That really P. me O. I had to reinsure that we do in-fact want her to live with us by showing her bedroom that we made sure we had when we were house hunting a year ago, and me showing her all the goodies I have gotten her in the mean time, and how excited I was planning things out with her in mind. I have been depressed since I felt like I messed up somewhere. I also been feeling horrible at the fact that I have been couponing and getting her things (Make-up, hair care, etc) she might like and a month ago I came to the realization that these things might not be good when she would arrive; this was assuming that we might be a year out. I'm just happy now I can really shop for her and know there is a super slim chance of her being denied and she will be able to live here where its safer-ish. But at least she wont have to share a small room with a few other families I'm glad I will be able to give her that at least. PS Hubs is hoping to get her here before Christmas....
  7. Sorry I made the mistake of saying the wrong country meant to write Ukraine, not Poland >< Been trying to get a hold of his daughter has been like pulling teeth.... Teenagers I tell you. On top of that I guess she has been sick =\
  8. I know this is NOT IR1/CR1 info but an IR2 update. This week my hubs and I got an email stating that his daughter is finally getting her interview in Warsaw for Dec 19th. We were DQ'ed on Sept 20th 2022. I just hope they are getting their documents in order that I have been bugging my hubs about for the last few months =\ (Aka Polish Police Certificate, we had to reorder a new Ukrainian Police Certificate sine his daughter went back into Poland AFTER that certificate was issued.) Timeline (Sorry I don't remember all the dates off the top of my head) June 7th 2021: IR2 submitted via online Feb 16th 2022: I-130 approve April (Early) 2022: NVC number for Frankfurt in April and request to be xfered to Warsaw (I feel like I messed up since now it feels like she would have been here sooner if I didn't request an xfer) May (late) 2022: Xfered to Poland July 18thish 2022 Submitted doc at NVC after giving up on trying to get a Ukraine Police Certificate and wrote a letter explaining why there is a lack of, Sept 20th 2022 they wrote saying letter is fine but try to get it and scan it to the website and bring it with her to the interview. Sept 20th Document Qualified. Nov 9th 2022: Interview is scheduled for Dec 19th 2022 at 8 am. Only took 530 days for us from summation of documents for I-130 for her to have an interview date =\ PS The petition was submitted by me and not my hubs in hopes of a faster processing time compared to if we had done it via him. PSS. My hubs daughter is Ukrainian, and fleed to Poland in Feb 28th or so 2022. I really wish I could have two different time lines tied to my account =\. Hubs ROC was approved but somehow I can't get the timelines to show it.
  9. I tried calling that number to make sure there was nothing wrong with the docs I posted, CEAS site says its still waiting on docs from me.... I had requested an expedite on Monday early morning, and got this as a reply: Dear Sir/Madam: Thank you for your patience. We sent your request to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in POLAND. However, they cannot expedite this case. To be fair to all applicants, the Department of State schedules immigrant visa interviews in the order that the cases complete processing at the NVC. We will continue to work with you on this case. After we receive the required fees and review the documents, we will schedule a visa interview appointment." It sounds like the reasons why I requested don't matter but they are refusing to expedite people's interviews.
  10. She was in the mainland Ukraine when the attacks started and fleed to Poland a week later. She is currently there and is hating every moment of it. Trying to see what valid reasons we can get her case expedited, besides she is a minor and a bit of a fear that she could be kidnapped. But tensions are running high for her mom and friends. I'm unsure how much of the changes are, I just know it was a bit of a headache to do his paperwork, I just placed USSR on his documents to just match what his birth certificate said and let the US government deal with it. His 2 year green card got Ukraine written on it and the IO at his ROC interview changed it to USSR. I just flat out tell my husband to just go off of what the government documents say. My husband has a friend that is stuck in Kharkiv that is trying to see if he can help us with getting my stepdaughter's police certificates just incase NVC demands them. Its so sad, this friend had just visited us and went back home only a few weeks later to have the attacks start and now he can't leave with his family. He is alive and doing as best as he can with what he has.
  11. That would be my husband, we contacted a lawyer to get his, I think we paid him about $100 or so. I am not 100% sure if this is current information, but it was as of April 2018. (Posting is signature via the emails). My husband was able to use him to get his Police certificate for Ukraine for when he lived in Moscow. He is a native born from Crimea, so I know the BS you are having to deal with. He's Ukraine passport is expired and he does have a Russian Passport as well. (only came across this post since I'm seeing there were any updates for Ukrainians getting their Police certificates. I guess for now its a written letter saying we aren't able to get it, signed and dated by us =\Trying to get my step daughter moved over here still.... sigh. Immigration can you know what in the you know what.) I don't know if anything I'm posting below helps you out, I do hope by now you have gotten some type of answers.
