My old screen name was Jordanian Princess and that has always been my ID on email and everything else which is why I selected it here. Now my screen name is Amira Ordonia which just means Jordanian Princess in arabic.

What does yours mean and why did you select it? If its in arabic, translate it. :star:

I'm Amal

Amal (with the long A in the middle - am-all) means "hopes" in Arabic.

My yahoo ID is "lyric hope" (as it is my favorite name for a girl if I ever get blessed enough to have one) and when I signed up for VJ I asked the hubster what he thought a good Arabic name for me would be and, due to my yahoo ID, this is the one we both agreed on. He was so happy too..he called his family and told them about the name we chose :) hehe it still makes me feel all good to think about it :)

good thread

"allousa" is my husband's nickname for me. It sounds like "ah-lou-sa".

It all started when I first started talking to Hicham's family on the phone. His mother couldn't quite pronounce my name correctly and it came out sounding like "ah-lou-sa". Pretty soon the whole family started calling me that and still do to this day. :)

My flaming red hair gave me much grief when I was young....people seem to find something irritating in my red hair and went quite out of their way to think up unkind things to say about it....so much so that I thought God really must not like me all that much to curse me with red hair. One day my gramps told me to think of my hair as "cool" and something the other kids were jealous of rather than as an affliction of sorts....thus "Coolred" was born....the 38 is my current age(gasp)....where does the time go?

Well, amira, mine is boring........but here's the explanation:

Mon - nickname for Mina - so is Monmon, or Monna (I told Mina that "mon" means "my" in French. He's MY MON , MINE MINE, or just Monmon. :jest: )

Nik - short for Nicky or Nicole, or whatever I get called.

Online, someone usually thinks that Monnik is like Monique or a play on that name.

Thanks for asking Amira.
