Hello all,

My fiancee is in Manila and looking for a plane ticket. She has only been able to find one that will get her from Manila to Los Angeles. They are saying they can not get her any connecting flights from Los Angeles to my Chicago, Kansas City, Des Moines or St. Louis...

Is there anyone that is dealing or has dealt with the Philippines that can help me out here? There has to be a aganecy in Manila that can book the enter trip to one of the places listed above...

Thanks in advance..

For months, I got the runaround in the USA about booking flights for my wife and stepson to fly from MNL to ATL in May. I was told by travel agents to make the arrangements in Manila.

So I tried when I went for the IR-1/IR-2 interview. In Manila, you have to provide copies of the visa(s), and the original certificate from the Department of Tourism for the discount on the tax that children pay to leave the Philippines (adults pay 1,620 Pisos, children pay 810 Pisos and EVERYONE pays a per-person 550 Piso departure tax at NAIA).

Finally, I just went to an online airfare booking service and booked one-way tickets on Cathay Pacific to HKG and then on United Airlines to SFO and ATL. I was not asked for any visa or passport or tax information. As an adult, I believe that I can take care of those matters when I am at NAIA with my family in May.

I probably paid a little more, but I have all seats reserved together for my family and I am free of the hassle of providing visas, passport numbers, and tax forms in advance.

If you think you waited a long time for the immigration process, how about one YEAR to get I-130 approval (and then just add another year for the interview)!

IR-1/IR-2 approval on 9 March 2006 / Visas delivered 21 March 2006

Wilhulse,

My wife has her interivew on April 27th and I just got finished making arrangments to go there, be with her at the interview, and come back together. I see your interview is on April 19th. I bought our tickets online. Bottomline, goto www.TFITOURS.com . I just went there and filled in the information for a oneway ticket from Manila to Chicago O'Hare (your area, right?) It returned 2 available tickets for $655 (that's with taxes included) returning May 8th or 22nd which is a pretty good price. No need to give passport or other information. All you do is put passenger name and pay with a credit card. I've bought tickets through this site on 2 different occassions and it is reliable. They also get your tickets to your door within 4-5 bus.days after purchase (of course thats like $15 extra). I also bought tickets (onway) online at www.ONETRAVEL.com. I just checked that site for you and they have a ticket available for $661 with taxes for May 8th (MNL - CHI O'Hare) They are the same, reliable, more affordable, and safe. I hope this helps. If you need any help with this you can send me a PM  Good luck!

BTW- all the tickets I just mentioned have one layover in Hong Kong (not overnight!)

To all,

Cebu Airlines is noted for intr-Philippine and regional Asian traffic, based out of Manila and often has discount flights. They have been approved and are in the process of opening their first continental US destination to California. Should prove interesting to see if US-Phil flights get some price decreases in the future.

Hi wilhuse

I left manila via KE (korean Airlines) last april 25th with my 4 yr. old son. Bookings is a little hustle tho if you book early from your plans would be great processing. I booked 1 month ahead of my schedule flight. And i paid around 77k pesos for me & my son.

there phone numbers in Manila are: 632-8934909 or 632-8910436.

I took an early flight from Manila. 1210am flight manila to korea (3.50 hrs) then we need to wait 5 hrs. in Korea, for connecting flight to Atlanta that will took 14 hrs flight, Arrive in Atlanta 11am.

Long flight but finally, we're here and i have no problem in POE in Atlanta. No questioned asked, you just need to wait for line if it happens, there were alot ahead of you that have problems in their papers than yours.

goodluck!

I arranged my flight with a travel agency in Manila. I didn't even have to show up at the travel agency, I worked it out over the phone, deposited the money into their bank account and after a week I received my plane tickets. The flight was from MNL to LAX via PAL, LAX to RDU w/ connecting flight from ATL via Delta Airlines.

Your fiancee should definitely do it with a travel agency back home, I forgot the name of the travel agency who booked my flights but they are reputable, they were even recommended by another discussion board so I had confidence transacting over the phone and just depositing the money to them.
