Hello guys,

I am in a situation and I need some clarity about it.

I am from India and was engaged (arrange marriage-matrimony) and got my K1 visa approved this year and flew to US and due to personal issues I walked out of the relationship just after spending a week with him.

So post that I was staying with my brother and through family I got another proposal and the guy is again a US citizen. I met him and his family and they liked me very much and my family too liked him. So since then we are looking at how do we proceed with this.

We have thought of applying for k1 visa again as it is a shorter process and wwe will get time to know each other more. We have hired a attorney we are not yet engaged but will soon be, I have come back to India and he will be traveling soon with his family to get engaged.

So, I am still anxious to know if I will get an approval again??

will I have to do the medical again??

Is there any advice you guys want to give me because we are still deciding.

PLEASE HELP!!!

The medical is the LEAST of your concerns.

They will definitely ask about prior K1 and so soon another one.

I believe your religion and cultural beliefs may be your best asset in responding truthfully.

Best wishes,

Catherine.

Yes I have an answer to the same! Just wanted to assure myself doing the K1 again wouldn’t be a problem?!

It is possible to get another K-1 visa so long as you did not marry. However, expect heavy scrutiny if the previous K-1 was recently obtained.

A new medical  is required.

Idk what you mean by "not engaged". You must be engaged to start the process for the K-1 visa. An engagement is just an agreement to marry...not a ring, formal proposal, etc.

Thank you for your reply! Not engaged meaning we are going to get engaged soon in less than a month and then we will start with our K1 visa! The recent visa wasn granted in April’18 and by the time this application is processed it will be somewhere in 2019.

I see this as a red flag. It looks like you’re visa shopping. Good luck with it. You might be better off getting married then filing CR1. Also fiancé and spousal visas are not for people who want to get to know each other better before taking the plunge. They’re for people who are committed to the relationship. If you’re not certain of the relationship, which seems like you aren’t because you only spent a week with the other person and jumped right into another relationship. Maybe get to know each other better before doing this.
