As most of you saw my previous post got closed due to unnecessary anger from our fellow VJ-ers.

 

I would like to post a quick update... Today, I have received an e-mail from the hiring manager telling me that the company reversed its decision and now I am invited for the final found of interview. I am not sure where this is going to lead, but it is certainly much better than accepting a plain NO based on the fact that I have only EAD and not a GC yet.

 

For those out there facing the same issue: Don't give up just yet. If it is worth for you then fight for it.

i was following the previous thread. i am confused, if you were already offered the job as you posted in the previous thread, why are you now just getting asked to do a final interview? but anyway, i wish you all the best.

N-400     28-Jun-21 Filed online ~ 28-Jun-21 Received NOA + "Biometrics will be re-used" notice ~ 14-Dec-21 Interview scheduled ~ 25-Jan-22 Interview. Approved. Case status: Oath will be scheduled.  ~ 01-Feb-22 Oath scheduled. ~ 14-Feb-22 Oath ceremony.   

ROC        11-Jun-20 Application sent via FedEx ~ 16-Jun-20 Case received ~ 29-Jun-20 (Old) biometrics applied to case ~ 01-Jul-20 NOA ~ 23-Dec-21 Case transferred to new office ~ 25-Jan-22 Combo interview with N400. Case approved.

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

I just think they need a reason to reject you legally, so... they invited you to the final round.

They can just use culture fit as a reason for rejection.

Only the hiring manager knows the truth and will ever know. Truly it's another chance to impress the hiriing manager wherever it goes.

I called next morning that DOJ told me that if I am gonna go with the form then they could not call the company. I withdrew the form and tried to take care of it through them calling the company. It seems to have worked.

Congrats!

Nice to hear they offered you a job. Thus it appears the Corporate HR did not know the rules about EAD cards. Seems strange for such a large company like M&S.

In the end the "alien" (or non-USC or GC holder) was able to obtain a job on EAD. Great News for all of us!
