I got a letter from U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services, saying the evidence I gave them that my marriage with the woman  that brought me to USA was of good faith, they want Bank joint account and things similar to that. The woman was the problem she was seeing her long time boy friend sometimes she brought him into the house, so we separated and divorced with her a month ago for the fear of my life, I stayed out of their way because the boy friend was capable of doing bad thing to me. I don’t knowhat to do, I am so confused. According to the letter,  if I don’t send more evidence they will deny my request to remove conditions. Any one who has been through a case like mine. I need advice.

What evidence of a bona fide marriage did you already send them? Do you have other items to send, such as joint accounts, joint credit cards, insurance policy beneficiaries, living wills / regular wills, retirement plans together, evidence of the time you lived together, etc.?

Edit: And if you filed the I-751 jointly but are now divorced, then also inform them of this and provide a copy of the final divorce decree.

I am going through the very same situation whereby the Homeland Security & Immigration Service has requested for evidence, I provided more evidence earlier on but they say it is insufficient, now the problem is I am running out deadline time because I am looking for more evidence. Can I write to them asking for more time to get sufficient evidence? Will that affect my case if I don’t send evidence upon time given.

Hello Visa Journeers,

Can I write to them asking for more time to get sufficient evidence? Will that affect my case if I don’t send evidence upon time given. I need phone plan bill records as a joint account with my ex wife, we had an account with t-mobile but she closed the account because it was very expensive for her and her brother when we separated, I don’t know how t -mobile is gonna help me with that but I believe it will be very useful info to send to Homeland security as an evidence.

It would help us help you if you would give us the exact language of the RFE you were sent.  Will you share it with us?

No you can not ask for more time.

You MUST send in what you have.

If they are not satisfied they will give you an interview. You can bring additional evidence to it and explain the situation. But an explanation isnt going to get you approved.

Because you have a limited knowledge about the ROC process I suggest you hire an immigration attny to help you.

Yes. They will deny the I-751 if you do not respond to the RFE in the given time.

Another member asked you June 15 about the evidence already sent; you never responded. Now back two months later with the same query. Cannot ask USCIS for more time; you must respond with available evidence of a bonafide marriage before the RFE deadline.

A person does not look for more evidence. The evidence should already exist.

What is language of the RFE  Sulie?

kindly help me understand what that stands for

Susie is asking what the rfe says exactly.

Rfe stands for request for evidence.

The language of means what was the wording they used.

You can post a picture of the rfe with your info blacked out if you want. But I stand by my advice from before- you may need an attorney's help since you are struggling with this.
