Working in multiple disciplines/occupations on H1B

Hello, 

I have been working in Activision for a video game (Call of duty) as a software engineer and my I-140 is done, and right now I'm on my 4th H1B visa. My question is that is it legal for me to work in fashion/modeling while being sponsored by Activision. Its an entertainment company but my job profile is software related. 

What else can be done so I can work in modeling ? I've been getting offers and I am not sure about legal issues.

Unless I am mistaken, you can ONLY legally work for the H1B sponsoring company......

Get a new H1B sponsor.

Well, you got allowed to be in the US on a condition that you'll perform specific job for specific employer.

You cannot just switch jobs now, unless you will have a new sponsor and new visa.

I actually want to work in both fields at the same time. Is there any provision ? Also can I get admitted in a university and “study” fashion and work on CPT while at the same time being on H1 b as a software engineer ??

In order to study you need a student visa or be a permanent resident. 

 

You want too much of which is not possible on your current status.

What is "study" mean?  You can not violate the intent of a visa. Don't you need a student visa?

Your visa is for one thing only. Your job. 

 

To study in college you need a student visa. Also as a student you cannot work off campus.

Actually, you probably can study, but you have to remain fully employed by the H1B employer from what I just read.

How about you speak with your company's lawyer? 

Those are the people who knows the answers to those questions especially since they put all those money out to bring you to the country.

I would have done that already if I could right ? I dont want to ask my company's lawyer about managing different professions. Which is why I'm posting here. Maybe more knowledgeable people should actually reply here rather than posting with replies starting with "i think, Maybe, I heard" If someone doesnt know the answer, just dont post.

If you suspect you doing side jobs will violate your contract with your current employer (that's why you don't want to speak with the lawyer?)  then maybe you should reconsider. 

 

We already told you you need to stick with employer who sponsor you.
