We met a Houston couple today that applied for AOS from a tourist visa in December 2017 and received their greencard in August 2018.  They were planning to marry before she came to the US but decided that a tourist visa is easier and cheaper than K1.

Apparently the Houston field office is even prioritizing “tourists” over families for green cards.

Would a SR and/or DHS-7001 help?

we did a SR just by change back in June... it supposed to answer in two weeks we received the letter yesterday (mid Sep) saying that the case is under current normal processing time, so no update will be given.

BTW we moved and notified about the new address early August and the letter was sent to the old address (it was redirected by USPS)

I already applied for the EAD renewal (180 prior expiration)

RD=Receiving Date? or what do you mean? if so is early December 2017

Receipt date = RD. I am 10/4/17 but I did have a RFIE on 4/30/18 and evidence was received on 7/19/18.
