Divorce after GC - apply for removal of conditions after divorce or?

Hi,

I am needing to find out of I apply for the removal of conditions separately immediately after divorce or the normal 6 months prior to the 2-year conditional GC I now currently have expires?
It's sort of an urgent question because I wasn't aware of needing to file immediately after divorce IF that's the case. Yikes!

EDIT: Does anyone know the likelihood of USCIS approving fee waivers also if you have a good case? Thanks so much. :-)

You apply for ROC in a 90 days before your 2 year green card expire.

If the divorce is final, you can apply at any point before the 2 year green card expires.

It's 90 days, not 6 months. But as noted above, once the divorce is final you can file at any point before it expires.

 

As for the fee waiver, it depends on your need and if you meet the requirements (and the ability to show it).
