I went today with my wife for DMV test in California.

 

They said the expired green card, is not accepted in the system.

 

I also showed them the extension letter. They said that is not useful.

 

How do people here got their drivers license ?

 

Also my wife extension letter expires in August. How long does it take to process the green card it is already a year.

A couple of suggestions, both of which were given in the thread CJKylie just posted:

 

1. Go to a different DMV office. I don't know where in CA you are, but the one my wife went to seemed to be pretty informed about immigrant documents and status (the one by the Coliseum in Oakland). 

2. Since the letter is going to expire in a couple months, set up an infopass appointment to get a stamp in her passport.

October 23, '18: NOA2- approval

October 30, 18: 10-year GC received
