My wife (green card holder) wants to bring her parents to Hawaii to live.  Would she able to bring both of them (Father/Mother) at the same time?  She also has a Younger brother (28yo) who would possibly like to live in Hawaii as well.

only USC can file for parents and siblings. once she becomes a US citizen, she can file for her parents, it will take over a year

 

her brother can't come with them

 

if she files for him, it will take over 20 years of waiting, maybe 25. if parents file for him it will take 12 or more years

 

and he can't marry while his parents are LPR

 

it will be a long time, it starts with your wife becoming a USC

As a son-in-law, no.

Only the USC child can file for his/her own parents.

Also just warn you for your asawa to petition her brother once she becomes a citizen the current wait time is 20 years for the Philippines.

no, not as long a he remains unmarried

 

that's how long it takes for an unmarried child over 21 of a LPR from the Philippines

 

check the visa bulletin under the countries' column for F2B

immigration is currently working on cases sent in January of 2007. so it will probably be over 12 years, by the time he can get here. maybe 14 years, who knows

Parents can file for an unmarried adult (21+) son or daughter as a green card holder. However, the wait is ~7-10 years. They have to remain unmarried during this period. Category: F2B.

If the petitioning parent becomes a USC during this period, the wait drops to ~6-7 years (Category: F1). If he marries while the petitioning parent is a USC, then he changes over to F3 category...ETA: ~14 years?

Edit: Eek..Yeah, PH is oversubscribed in F2B, F1, and F3, so the waits are even longer.

Hi ,

 

i have a question for you guys, my grandma petitioned my mother when she’s still a single , since the process takes time my mother already got married to his husband when the petition approval came. After that my grandma didnt reapply my mother for her new petition for a married daughter . Now my mother is already widow . Do she still have a chance to be petitioned again for a fast process ?

Was your grandma a citizen when your mother got married? When did all this take place?
