Hey Guys!  First, thank you for all the help I have received here at VisaJourney.

Secondly, I just received notification that my case was transferred and another place has jurisdiction.

Anyone familiar with this? Or know what this means.  I have no received the hard copy in the mail yet.  Just online case update.

In 2016, our I-130 case was transferred from Nebraska to Texas.  It didn't delay the process at all.....They routinely transfer cases to balance workloads among service centers.

By the way, you will retain your original case number

Thank you so much for your feedback, I truly appreciate it.

I am just nervous as another women, who is petitioner for her spouse of the same country as mine.  Was sent to NBC and now is required to go to a interview at the local offices prior to petition approval.

I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 rep, and am even more confused that before.

She states that my petition is STILL in Nebraska, but just moved within a different unit within Nebraska Service Center.  When asking to explain that to me, she couldn't.  Just said I need to wait for my letter as she does not have access to it.

Did your status on your case change when it moved to the new office?

Thanks for your help!

I remember getting the same notice you posted.  What she said sounds a little weird.  In fact, I think she is wrong......The notice says "transferred to another USCIS Office"..........I hope she isn't saying that based on the fact that the case number is still the same.....because you will retain the original number even after transfer.

Ours was wrongfully sent there.  We had to get a local official involved to get it sent back to our office.  So, we might not be the best case to base this off of. I wish I could help more!
