I-864 form for Canadian Spouse

The I-864 form is generating a number of questions we would like to get input from. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is the scenario:

  • My wife (US citizen) is petitioning for my immigration to the US from Canada.
  • We have 5 children who have dual citizenship.
  • My wife is not employed, though she does get child tax support in addition to my wage.
  • My wife's father intends to be a joint sponsor and is also completing an affidavit of support on my behalf.

Our questions:

  • In Part 6, Question 7 should my wife include her child tax money as her "current annual income" since this income will not continue once we move to the US?
  • In Part 6, Question 20 should my wife include her child tax money plus my income  as "my current annual household income"?
  • Our children have dual citizenship. This being the case does this impact the way we complete any of the form (for instance household size)?

1] no she cannot.  It will not continue after relocating

2] no unless it will continue

3] the household size for your joint sponsor will not include your dual citizen children, only you, the beneficiary.
