N-400 - passport photos or no?

This should be an easy question, I'm guessing, but I'm a little confused if I should send 2 passport photos in with my N-400 application or not. It doesn't seem to suggest so in the filing instructions, especially as you have photos done during the biometric, but I did read in someone's guide that they included two.

My application is pretty much ready to go, but finding a passport booth is always a mission these days!

Thanks for the input all!

Instructions for N-400 state:  "Only applicants who reside overseas must provide two identical color photographs of yourself taken recently..."

Unless you meet this requirement, I wouldn't go to the trouble or expense of sending passport style photos.

Thank you! I saw that, but it seems so foreign to not send photos, and then I was thrown off by someone else's instruction. But that saves a lot of hassle. Appreciate the quick response, gives me peace of mind and doesn't delay my filing! Have a great day!

They used to require it, but not anymore unless you reside overseas. Make sure you send a copy of the front and back of your GC tho.. I seen here people reporting that immigration officers asked them for photos during the interview tho but i don't know if that's for special cases, but you don't have to worry about that until it's time for your interview

You don't need a photo. They will take your picture during biometrics if they need to.

What I post here is merely my personal opinion and not a valid legal advice and should not be viewed as such.

You don't need to send photos with the N400 application. However, please do take passport photos with you at the interview. There were many of us, myself included,  who have been asked for passport photos during interview. Thank God I had them with me.

To add to this, if you're not offered a same day naturalization ceremony, bring photos with you when you go for one. Oftentimes there will be a passport agency on site taking applications, they will need those photos.
