The form asks for my and my beneficiaries employment history. We both worked in Auckland, New Zealand where we met for a few months before we started to travel to other parts of the country. Should I be more concerned with stating our previous employments in our own countries? The reason I wrote in our work in New Zealand was so the officer looking at my file could place us both in the same country at the same time.

Thanks for your help

Are you talking about form g325?

You should list your employment in chronological order from most recent job to older in the last five years. Use an extra sheet of paper if needed.

Did u guys met within the last five years?

Not G325a but yes, include the information specifically asked for.  If you what to show evidence of when you were first in the same country, that's copies of passport pages, etc. submitted as supporting documentation/evidence, not a substitute for the information asked for on the form.

Answer the question exactly as it is asked and don't supply unrequested information just because you think it will improve your chances of approval.

If it asks where you have worked for the last 5 years, list all the jobs and employers that you have had in the last five years. Don't overthink this or any question. There are other reasons for questions being asked beyond trying to establish that you are a "genuine couple". Don't try and guess the reason for the question because you will probably guess incorrectly.

Having had 30 jobs or no jobs in the past 5 years won't be a cause for denial of the petition. Too many people overthink these questions.

It asks you to state your employment history for the last 5 years, regardless of country. You should list all employment for the past 5 years.

  • 2 weeks later...

If anyone has any information how to fill out job history for freelancers that would be amazing. Over the last five years I've had about 25 - 30 "jobs". Mainly all the same role but for different production companies. I don't have the dates on when my contract ended and when it started. Sometimes I would work for the comany up to 10 times for the year a with different start and end dates.

Would it be possible just to include all the companies on my I 130 form but write "freelance" or start/end unavailable?

Were you "employed" or self employed?  If you were an independent contractor, then you were self employed as a/an "    " for that space of time.

Technically I was self employed at the time since I was an independent contractor. Thank you

Then employer name is "Self Employed" as "youroccupation".  Address would be, "Same as home address above".  Use one date range for the whole time you were self employed in that occupation, even if it was more than five years.

I had different addresses at this point as well. Living in New York, my roommate and I had to switch apartments every other year. Is it best to write "Self Employed" for each year I had a different address?

Thank you

Just use the address that corresponds to the end of the time frame.
