Recommended Posts

Put down where you were married.  Put present or handwrite it if you have to. Sometimes the forms don't allow for words where numbers generally are.

Thanks. What about all the stuff asking about interpreter  and Preparer? Leave it blank?

The passport photos must have a neutral background, not red. 

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!

If you thought that, you haven't thoroughly studied the I-130 instructions.  Doing so (for all forms) will be critical to your ultimate success.

The I-130 is a petition for alien relative.  You follow the specific instructions for the spouse of a US Citizen.  STUDY.

I missed the part where it says only if the spouse is already in the US. Got it now.

That's not what it says.  Read carefully and interpret literally.  Don't read extra things in, or say it backwards.  Kiss of death.  The result of your backward interpretation is the same, but don't do that.
