Hi all! I am submitting my I-130 package on Monday and I am wondering if the things listed below would constitute enough evidence for proof of our marriage:

Copy and translation of lease of shared apartment

Receipts of money sent from spouse to my US savings account

Official wedding photos

Copy of proof of purchase of engagement ring

Posts from family members on fb about our wedding

My husband is from Ireland and I am from the US. We live in Korea together. I have read that the thing that matters is to see we've spent a lot of time together. Since we've lived in the same place for 3 years and not have a shared apartment/ have proof of a real wedding, do you think this is enough evidence?

Thanks for your help!

To dispatch with the semantics, the only "proof" of your marriage is your marriage certificate since that shows you are legally married; everything else you send is "evidence" not "proof".

Copy and translation of lease of shared apartment - good

Receipts of money sent from spouse to my US savings account - doesn't mean much since it's not a joint account

Official wedding photos - good, but don't stop there, include a sample of pictures spanning your relationship

Copy of proof of purchase of engagement ring - worthless

Posts from family members on fb about our wedding - worthless

You are currently living in together in Korea, do you have any evidence indicating you live there together (e.g. both names on a form) or do you have separate accommodations?

Proof of a real wedding?????????  That statement makes no sense, any legal marriage ceremony performed is a real wedding regardless of when or where it took place.

As I stated, we have a lease with both of our names. By a real wedding, I meant a wedding that was celebrated with our friends and family and had many witnesses. Obviously I am aware that any marriage ceremony is a real wedding.

If you have been living together as a couple, that is 90% of it.  Wedding ring receipt is mostly superfluous.

Any bank accounts you both use would be the next thing they'd want to see.

Some pictures may help, but in most cases the challenge is proving you are a couple while living apart. You have a big advantage in already living together.

Leave this out as it is not evidence of anything helpful.  Your living together in Korea will carry the day.  Add some photos together spanning your entire relationship.  Remember this "evidence" is about the relationship, not the legality and reality that you are married.  People committing immigration fraud through marriage are also officially/legally married.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous
