Dubai to Chicago via Amsterdam, visa?

Hi guys,

 

Asking for a friend. His fiance is Filipino with a Filipino passport and a K-1 visa, living in Dubai. If his fiance is coming from Dubai to Chicago with a layover in Amsterdam (KLM airlines), does she need any sort of visa for Amsterdam?

8/17/16 same day later in the evening both EAD status and AP status changed to Approved
8/19/16 EAD status changed - card was mailed
8/23/16 EAD/AP card delivered :dancing:

9/06/16 AOS approval in the mail received

9/10/16 Green Card received :)

I'm an European citizen and i never needed a visa for a layover, maybe some other nationalities are different...check with the airlines for a solid answer

To simply change aircraft a Philippines citizen does not need a transit visa for the Netherlands

I obviously know that, Europe is getting strict as well due to terrorism so yeah check with the airline, they should assist u with all that!

Did you follow the link?  She does NOT need a transit visa if she remains in the airport for the entire length of the stopover

You're a European citizen saying you never needed a visa for a layover in Europe... Umm.. no $hit you don't need one. What's the point of your response? It doesn't even apply, so why respond at all?

I fly that route all the time.

 

I guess for those countries listed (and Philippines isn't one) it would be the departing airport ticket counter looking for the transit visa because when you get off the plane at Schipol, there is no additional checks in entering the airport or going to other gates (unlike Paris which has additional security screening, but not visa checks).

 

Delta does additional screening for departing US flights at either the SkyTeam Lounge (52) or at the E1 gates.  Odd as KLM flights going to the US don't do the additional screening .
