Extension letter is going to expire!

My extension letter expires in May. Like many others who filed in May 2017, I got a notice that my case was being reviewed by the local office. I can't find any indication of what to do if the letter expires. The last time I traveled, the border officer told me to "call" and that I would have to pay another $600 since immigration is so backed up right now. 

 

Can anyone suggest where to call to get another extension?

Schedule an InfoPass appointment to get an I-551 stamp. That acts as a green card for 1 year. There's no fee involved.

I think the officer thought your card was a 10 year card and you needed to file for a renewal (I-90), not going through ROC. You can't get a new card while going through ROC.

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

5/1/2017: Case received by Manila (1 week embassy transfer??? Lucky~)

7/13/2017: Interview: APPROVED!!!

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE
