People who've gone to Biometrics Appt

For those that have already gone a few quick questions

 

1) Are you allowed to bring your spouse or do they not allow it?

2) Same with a child, could you if you wanted to?

 

3) What exactly happens at the Biometrics?  Would you describe it as stressful?

It may depend on the office, but I have gone with my spouse both times.  One time I was allowed into the biometrics waiting room with my spouse, and one time I was asked to stay in the main waiting room.  There were children in the waiting room at my office (Albany, NY).  They have to pass through security (like airport security) like everyone else does.

 

Biometrics is usually not stressful.  You fill out a form with basic info, you get your picture taken, and you get your fingerprints taken.  My spouse had a little stress the first time because the woman taking her fingerprints kind of accused her of having hand cream on.  Getting her prints was difficult, and the woman blamed my spouse (who did NOT have hand cream on!).  The second time (for citizenship), it was absolutely no issue at all.

 

The biggest stressor is just not knowing what is going to happen.

 

Biometrics is the easiest part of this whole process (in my opinion).

let me be blunt.. is this your first biometrics appointment?  this section is for removal of conditions.. I don't think you would've gotten to this point without having done 1 biometrics appointment/schedule..?

 

besides that, don't stress out

 

1 - you're allowed to bring your spouse with you but they're very strict.. i go with my wife but i literally just sit in the chair

2 - not sure about this.. probably, but really you're only there to take pictures/fingerprints done

 

3 - answered above inadvertently, you're there to literally get your biometrics.. pictures/fingerprints/etc

 

the whole process is quick, you go there, fill out some paperwork? i think.. not 100% sure, but anyways once they call you.. pictures, fingerprints, minutes.. done

1. I have seen people at the appointments with their spouse, I don't know if it depends on the location for that, but they will wait in the waiting area while you get your fingerprints taken. 

 

2. I think you could bring a child, but they'd have to sit in the waiting area, so you probably need someone else to watch them.

 

3. It is not a stressful thing at all.  You fill out a form with your height, weight, eye color, etc.  Then they take some fingerprints and a photograph and you are out.  Its not an interview, your case won't be denied while you are there.  They just take fingerprints and a photograph and confirm some information about you.  You just have to show up on time.

I took my husband with me to the CLE office and had no issues getting in. It was not stressful at all, the woman working there was about my age (mid-20s at the time) and she was nice. I don't know about children but I'm sure they're allowed in too.
