   Fifteen thousand plus firearms related deaths in 2017 and I'm told it hasn't affected the sales of firearms. Why would package deliveries be different?

I know you're being sarcastic here, but the truth is these packages aren't actually designed in any clever way to look like they have been delivered by amazon or anything official, but I suppose if they wanted to up their game a little they could do that. They are your basic... kind of package bomb. This latest was by a tripwire, so it seems they are changing the tactic a little. If this were a country-wide phenomena, perhaps it would affect the delivery industry.

 

But just an odd curious thing to this case.. it's being investigated as a hate crime initially, because of the individuals that were targeted. And now that they've changed tactic, it seems more randomized, less targeted toward individuals but toward the community as a whole. We had a crazy Nazi bomber guy in Delaware last week, he wasn't the brightest bulb in what he tried to do... but he did have a housefull of bombs.

Texas explosions: FBI investigating new blast at FedEx plant

 

A parcel bomb has exploded at a FedEx depot near San Antonio, Texas, injuring one, the local fire department said.

The incident occurred overnight in the town of Schertz, an hour south of Austin where four bombs have been planted in recent weeks.

Federal agents told the Associated Press that the package was bound for Austin and probably linked to the previous devices, which killed two.

Authorities believe the blasts are the work of a serial bomber.

Yes, it was sarcasm.  But I also find it sad that not only is someone getting away with this, it has barely made national news.

It seems his or her success is leading to more devices.  Hopefully the law catches up in a hurry!

I agree with you. Unless they make a mistake or leave clues it can take a long while to catch a bomber or understand their motivations. I think there was a guy back in 02 that simply wanted to make a big smiley face on a map with bomb locations.

And again 1.3 million per year in car accidents...seems like time is of the essence, looks like we should take care of that problem first.

  Those are global stats. It's about 37000 per year in the USA. We could compare either way but since we started out with US statistics, best to compare apples to apples. To your main point though, yeah you are far more likely to be killed in a motor vehicle accident.
