Hi Everyone,

 

Having seen that Nebraska is the slowest center out there and QUITE A FEW of you are getting your applications sent there (including myself), I was wondering who from the past have experienced their timeframe/process and if it was as it says... (soooo long). People who have just found out that their applications have been sent to Nebraska... Welcome :)  Lets keep each other updated!

Same here, our case got sent to nebraska too but I have to admit it feels like they are speeding up the process a tiny little bit. 

At least that what it feels to me!

Although I think if u prepare yourself with „the worst timeline“ everything faster than that is just awesome :)

It went by faster than I thought it would! Our PD is July 24th, 2017, and we got approved March 5th. So, yes, that is 7.25 months, but I was expecting 9-10 months. If you look at the graphs on this site, you'll see that their backlog is clearing and things are going faster and faster!

2016/03/30 - Married!

2017/07/14 - Sent off our I-130 packet to the Chicago Lockbox (Filed from abroad)

2017/07/24 - NOA1 (sent to Nebraska)

2018/03/02 - NOA2 (Approved!)

2018/03/19 - "We sent your petition to the Department of State"

2018/03/23 - NVC received petition

2018/05/17 - Case# received and fees paid

2018/05/21 - Case# changed -- can't log in with the new one so "we've sent in a 'ticket' to get it fixed"

2018/05/22 - Scan date. Ticket worked, submitted all our paperwork until the wee hours of the morning. 

2018/06/11 - CC!!! "Documentarily Qualified"

2018/06/25 - Got interview date for July 11; but we must reschedule for August. 

2018/06/26 - Medical

2018/06/28 - New interview date received (for August 13th)

2018/08/13 - Interview in Frankfurt!!! They asked for certified translations.

2018/08/28 - Sent in translations

2018/09/06 - CEAC status changed to "ISSUED!!!"

2018/09/13 - Passport received in the mail! Everything is beautiful.

September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!

December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Guys, NSC is in deed speeded up a lot (I don´t know what they did) but they are currently in the 6 months that requires, for example, my case was opened 6 months and 20 days! I´m an August filer, so they are fine now.!

NVC is the one who is a little backlogged now!

February 2016: We met in our jobs.

May 31 2016: We became a couple. :dancing:

August 16 2016: Engaged.

October 20 2016: ¡OUR WEDDING! Wooohooooo !!!!:dancing::dancing::dancing::wub:  :wub: :wub: 

CR-1 Visa Journey ... Service Center: Nebraska. Embassy: Bogotá , Colombia.

(I - 130 USCIS stage) :

Monday, August 21 2017 (Day 1) :  I - 130 sent. 

Monday, August 28 2017 (Day 7) : NOA 1  (Received via e-mail and SMS).  :dance:

Tuesday, September 05 2017 (Day 15) :  NOA 1  (hard copy I-797 received thru post mail) (PD Aug 24 2017).

Tuesday, March 13 2018 (Day 201) : USCIS issues RFE to our case . (Case opended at least) .:dance: 

Saturday, March 17 2018 (Day 205) : USCIS RFE  arrived via post mail.

Monday, March 19 2018 (Day 207) : USCIS RFE ´s answer was sent via post mail to NSC .

Thursday, March 22 2018 (Day 210) : Online Case Status changed to RFE´s answer was received .

Monday, April 2 2018 (Day 221) : ¡Approved! Online Case Status now shows Case was sent to Department of State.:dance::dancing:

 

(NVC Stage) :

Wednesday, April 4 2018 (Day 223) : Case Received.

Tuesday, June 5 2018 (Day 285): Case Number assigned, welcome letter received,invoice number received, DS261 filed.

Thursday, June 7 2018 (Day 287): AOS fee paid, waiting IV package fee to be unlocked to pay it.   

Thursday, June 14 2018 (Day 294): DS-261 checked and received letter, IV package fee now unlocked. 

Friday, June 15 2018 (Day 295) : IV fee paid, waiting DS-260 to be unlocked to fill it online. 

Monday, June 18 2018 (Day 298) : Full Package sent to NVC via post mail. 

Tuesday, June 19 2018 (Day 299): DS-260 unlocked to fill it online.

And isn't that a pain?! I mean, for us who have just been transferred or will soon be transferred to the NVC. I think you recent filers might have a shorter wait time than we did. So congratulations to you all! :)

 

It's so strange to see the trends and that it used to take only a few months for the ENTIRE PROCESS to be finished. I can hardly believe that. What a joy that must have been haha.

All the ladies and gentlemen in the house personally victimized by Nebraska, please raise your hands!  o/ o/ o/ o/! 

 

What can I say :D When we got sent there in February of last year and I read how it was slowing down, I couldn't have known how horrible it was truly  going to be. 

I knew it would take us surely over 6 months,  so 7. Then we hit 8, sure. Then 9, Then 10. I was about to lose all hope when we finally got approved after 10 and a half months,  just before the year ended (and with it my sanity) I was so relieved! 

 

The good news is, it was a (hopefully) temporary issue as mentioned. There were a LOT of new filers in November 2016, a combination of the fee increase and change of presidency (many of us suspect these are the two main factors) and it threw the system off balance, but apparently, it only truly affected Nebraska and the lucky ducks stuck there. Why they didn't divide the workload amongst other centers is beyond me. Some except Potomac did fall a little behind, but they kept  consistently approving cases in the 6-8 month range. *shrug* 

 

NVC is now backlogged logically, and it will keep getting backlogged for a while, which is now creating an avalanche and hurting people from other centers. I'd say it surprises me that NVC didn't do anything to prepare for something they literally saw and had coming, but eh, USCIS didn't either. Why would it be any different? Just be thankful most countries aren't like Mexico, we still have 3-4 months to go even AFTER case complete at NVC. Yeah.

➺ 12/21/17 NVC confirmed they received our file 

➺ 01/22/18 Documents sent to Rapidvisa 

➺ 02/05/18  NVC received our package 

➺ 03/15/18 Case complete! 

➺ 06/27/18  We got our Interview date! August 28th 

➺ 08/30/18 The package arrived (waited at Juarez)

➺ 08/31/18 Entered the U.S with my husband 

➺ 02/13/19 Husband confesses he cheated, leaves

➺ 02/16/19 Husband decides to abandon the marriage

➺ 05/13/19  I am officially divorced. 

 ➺ 07/03/20  I file to remove conditions on my own     

 ➺ 08/13/21 I finally get my biometrics appointment 

➺ 02/26/22 I got my interview assigned: March 31st.

Nebraska here too...I submitted 5/16/17 and NVC stage now. Paid both fees filled out I864 and gather documents just awaiting last police certificate. Of course the other application for the visa. Wow...what is different is the fact that the question they asked on the earlier cannot be mergered with the visa application. Therefore streamlining the process..Just my humble opinion. Just see a level of redundancy.

YEs, a lot of pain that we suffered, but compred to many friends that I have here in VJ taht have to wait 12 months, I´m happy.

Believe me, less than 6 months ver few cases takes for NOA2 less than 6 months!

YAY received NOA1 1 week after posting! Does anyone know at what point I will get my A-Number as it is not shown on the letter?
