Hello Houstonians,

I'd like to dedicate this page for Houston Field Office N-400 Application Filers.

 

Houston FO is one of the busiest in the nation with a very large amount of pending N-400 Applications. I wish we can share our experiences here until we all pass the finish line.

Last scheduled interview was for a PD of 12/23/2016.

 

Is there anybody with updated information?

Thanks @ny to la I will add your case to our HOUSTON time line.

You are close to the interview step.

 

Based on the official published processing times for Houston FO, the office took 185 days,

From and including: Monday, July 31, 2017 To and including: Wednesday, January 31, 2018 to process and complete 84 days worth of cases, From and including: Friday, July 29, 2016 To and including: Thursday, October 20, 2016. 
There are 1000 more cases in Oct-Dec 2016 and 3000 more cases in Jan-Mar 2017 in comparison to June-Sep 2016 case volume.

After my bios, I got an update saying my case is being actively reviewed. It was at 26 months...and at least it went down to 23.

My estimated Wait time went from March 2019 to December 2019. It is crazy. I've seen people get their passport within 4 months in other places. Why can't they just send some cases to smaller offices and just do the interviews here in Houston? I wonder how far behind they have to get before they realize they have to do something different.

A lot of people got pushed back as well and confirming this estimate time is not accurate. I would not pay much attention to it. However Houston FO has a 35K cases backlog as per the last quarter report. Hope things will get better.
