Is it your interview or her interview? who is sponsoring who and who is being interviewed for visa?

A joint sponsor needs to meet same requirements as a sponsor which includes:

  • completed Form I-864 - Income reported on this form or your tax return reflects income below the poverty guidelines for the year the form was submitted
  • IRS Tax Transcripts (either just the last year OR the last 3 years) or photocopy of your IRS Federal Income Tax Returns and Form(s) W-2 or schedule(s) from the most recent tax year.
  • Submit evidence of your income - photocopy of an employment letter, pay stub, or pay advance (direct-deposit receipt)
  • Proof of U.S. status - Birth certificate showing birth in the United States, U.S. Naturalization Certificate, U.S. passport/passport card, Form I-551 “green card”.

I got all these from the link below:

I am the petitioner and my spouse is the applicant. I am sponsoring her and will have my brother fill out form I864.
