Canadian worker seeking US work visa

Hi everyone!

 

I am a registered nurse in Montreal, QC, Canada. I will be sponsored for a TN visa by my employer in Florida and eventually I plan to ask them to petition for an H1B visa if possible. My boyfriend is planning to come with me. He is a heavy equipment/machinery operator with no special education but approximately 6 years of work experience. I know that if he is my husband he can accompany me and obtain a TN visa but will only be able to study (not able to work). However, are there any visas available for him to apply for? Is there any way for him to be able to work in the US while I am under my TN visa?

He could assuming you marry use the opportunity to study so he would qualify for his own work visa.
