I also think that H1B will be a great option as far as your employer is keenly interested in you. Unlike F1 visa, a job visa allows you to work in the USA for 6 years.  After getting your h1B you can ask your employee to file for a green card on your behalf. Anyway, better consult an immigration expert as the procedure can be tricky.

Based on my own experience I recommend that you concern online immigration services which will save you time and money.

https://usimmigrationforms.com/ - this website is really good.
You can check your eligibility for applying, get all information  related to your case and fill all needed forms online, under step-by-step guidance.

Hi Ludda! Thank you for your reply! Yeah, it's not really easy to stay in the US unless you are married to an American citizen. Even with the H1B is difficult because it's a lottery...I am so glad that my company is sponsoring me, I am hoping I will get the visa so that I can plan a longer stay and then try the green card! or even better, meet someone and get married :)

FYI, even if selected in the H1 lottery, you will need to leave the US at the end of your OPT, since you said it will expire in July.  You only have a 60 day grace period at the end of OPT to leave or change status.  You will not be able to begin H1 status until at least Oct. 1st, which will be more than 60 days from the end of your OPT.

Talk to your DSO about CAP GAP.  That is a bridge between OPT and H-1B start date.
