I was surprised too at the amount of work to get this packet done.  It was certainly less than the K-1 but not by much in our case.  I'm just glad our packet is in USCIS's hands now and I don't have to fret over every little check box anymore :-)

Hi everyone!

Today we got rejection notice of our I-765 form. Please read the reason in the attaachment. I understood that I have to resubmit a new form. But why the day the fee amount is incorrect? They cashed the 1225 check. And there is no fee for this form right? So what should I just resubmit a new form and attach noa1 for i485?

also to this rejection notice attached a green paper which states to put this letter on top of my application and the original i765. So should I attach just that one green paper or w whole pack of documents  which they have sent?

I also don’t understand there is a question about SSN. If I want to be issued a SSN. I have one from work and travel program but it has restricted conditions so I want to keep it but change it to regular one and also with my name second name. What should I answer ??

@sashulyasw, as for your first inquiry, I would do the new form, submit all that you did before, but include your NOA1 from the I-485 with the package.  That shows that you do not need to pay anything for the EAD.  I would follow the instructions and put the green paper on the top of your application, followed by all the documents that you need to submit.  

 

As for the second, if you already have an SSN, then you do not need one.  As for the restrictions, they will come off later, when you get your EAD or GC.

just to update we have received 3 emails last night that our case was already received.

 

PD are as follows : 

AOS -8Feb

EAD -2Feb

AP  -2Feb

We sent our package out Thursday 02/08 via Fedex, was supposed to be delivered yesterday Monday 02/12. It spent all day "Out for delivery" and now its Tuesday 02/13 and Scheduled delivery is "pending."

Hopefully they didn't loose the package.

Fingers crossed! Everything seems so haphazard! We sent ours on Sunday via Fedex to get there today by 4.30 and the status is 

On FedEx vehicle for delivery

I wonder what happens when the office closes at 4... maybe then they try again next day. Hope both of our packets will get there today!

Yes, that's great! As I wrote previously the status changed to delivered for me while I was writing about it not being delivered
The packet got there at 10.24 am and was signed for by J.Chyba...

Hello fellow February 2017 K1 filer, good to see you here now too!  :-)

 

Small update on our case today, just logged into my bank account and saw that the check has been cashed...bye bye $1225    At least hopeful that the check being cashed is a good first sign that our packet included the right forms and fees.  Now just waiting for NOA1.

In the form part 2 question 2: 

Are you applying for adjustment based on the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) section 245(i)?

 

I selected no. But just checking that this is correct because I don't actually know what INA is. Thanks! Hope everyone is well

We didnt send our packet yesterday  After I double checked everything I assumed that we are Missing one document from our co-sponsor, now she needs to get it from her job so I don't know how long it is going to take but I am glad that I found it now that later. So hopefully we will send it soon...

You are correct.  You should select no for this question.
