You need your MNL# to schedule the interview and medical.  The interview schedule is only open a couple of months in advance.  The medical can be as close as 3 to 4 days prior to the interview.  No appointment required for the medical as it is walk-in first come first serve

YMMV

You will want to schedule your interview first, then complete the medical.  Many do both within the same week.

Did you get your MNL # from NVC yet?    It is currently taking 30-60 days to receive the case file number   http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/nvc-k-1.html

How far does it let you go? May?

Appointment calendar only displays up to two months (current month and following month.  Jan - Feb an an example).  If you want a May interview you will need to wait a few months.

There is really no need for you to go since it is Philippines.  If you can go then great.

From what I have seen about 5 kanos in the attend each day on average, and about 100 applicants per day

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

You are correct.  There is no need..    but I was there just the same, just because ..  ;)      Being at the interview was a great experience... and yes, I agree, not necessary.

No need to attend if you believe your case is strong. Most are getting approved so we will tell it's not necessary. If you case is weak, then you may want to attend.

Some of us attended for our curiosity and the other reason is we wanted to support our aswa. It's a personal choice but would highly recommend going as the experience is something else. Just to see the sea of Filipino's trying to get a visa for whatever reason is a daunting task for the Embassy. You'll appreciate why you are asked to submit all the documents that you did.
