Making sure of the case number

Hi, everybody!

I know that my "case number" must be below the cut-off number for my region/country to be notified for an interview. My question is: The case number is in the following format: Year Letters Zeros "Numbers", those numbers reflect that "case number" they always refer to, right? I mean, those numbers form the number that must be below the cut-off number, is that right?

Thank you for your help.

This is a DV case so the numbering system is different for other cases.

The format for DV numbers is 14 characters in total:  Year (4 characters) - Region (two characters) - Case Number (eight digits).

Once your case number is below the Visa Bulletin for your region, you are considered 'current' and - presuming you've submitted your DS260 and it's been processed by the KCC, you'll be scheduled for an interview.

Yes that’s right, you ignore the zeroes between the region code and the actual number.
