I've done it a couple of times and never had a problem.  Sorry you did.  Yes, you have to go thru a second set of security check but no worse than any other security check.  Perhaps you might want to share the pain point and some suggestions to help others be prepared or avoid the PITA aspects of it.

Pita to get though security check majorly backed up finally at gate waiting for boarding to manila
