How long can we drive our Canadian Car in the US

We are moving to the US and I want to use my car for a short term (4-6 weeks) till I find appropriate accommodation and be able to buy a car. We then intend to drive back to Canada and sell my car. My car is currently registered and Insured in Canada

 

I would love to import the car but there seem to be too many hassles and the odometer will confuse the Americans and I may lose value on the car if I decide to sell it after all the hassle.
