Reporting Additional Income on I-864

Hello everyone,

I am helping my parents fill out the I-864 for my grand-parents. The applicant already went to the interview and they were denied the visa due to lack of sponsorship; they need a new joint sponsor. I believe we were short $10,000 on the income requirement. I went back to read the instructions for I-864 and I recalled that we can also add asset value. Does anyone know what assets can we add?

 

1)Would bank statement, life-insurance policy be okay to add? 

2) What form would I fill out to provide these since the interviewer asked for new joint sponsor?

I believe you need to fill out i864 and i864a for the joint sponsor.

May I ask after you providing the documents they required, the application will continue or you have to start all over again?
