AOS Filers - Washington DC / Fairfax Office

hello. any other AOS filers at the Washington, DC / Fairfax field office like me around?

Yep, 05/11 Received. Still Awaiting Interview. 

 

9-10 months average for interview at Fairfax office. The interview letters are sent out somewhere 8-9th month with 30-day advance notice of interview.

 

You hang in there till July 4th, 2018 Independence Day to get your interview :-)

hi there @bps367, nice to meet another DC filer here. i would have replied sooner but for some reason did not see a notification for this. july 4th is my birthday so maybe an approval will be a nice birthday present then. but id settle for no birthday presents if they can schedule me earlier!  how about you, any updates on your case?

hi @Rosie2a09, nice to meet you and congrats! we have roughly the same timeline. i got my combo card last week. our AOS will be awhile though. i think they are just interviewing jan-feb 2017 filers at the moment. =(

Hello everyone I received my combo card first week of January and not updates for interview.Do you guys have any idea when might be fairfax office. My PD was June 6 but I got RFIE time reset to 0 and they start to work on my case again 14th August.So hopefully hear something soon.

For Fairfax office, someone with May 5, 2017 PD has confirmed interview date for 28 Feb 2018. 

 

My PD is 11 May 2017, so I will most likely get interview date first week of March 2018. 

 

For Fairfax office, it is a 10-month process from PD to interview date. Rest is all noise.  Please be patient as it gets easier after few months.

yeah, i'd say this sounds about right. i saw one april filer got a feb interview schedule.

Hello! I Filed my AOS application on 17th May 2017. Got notice ogłady Friday and My interview was set on 6th March in Fairfax. 

 

Anyone’s medicals are going to expire on Interview date?

wow congratulations! i think people say the medical is good for a year from the date you submitted your aos application. did the interview notice you received say if you needed to get a new medical done?

Well the list of documents to provide looked very generic to me. It was said - to bring medical forms unless they were already submitted.  I arrived in February on K1 and left sealed envelope at port of entry, filed for AOSin May, so I don’t know when exactly my medicals expire : on 13th February 2018 or 17th May 2018.  Also I didn’t medicals at my home country before the change of requirements - so I wasn’t tested for gonorrhea :/ so I don’t know if I should wait for guidelines and rfe at Interview or I should go to civil surgeon before interview :/

oh man, that's a dilemma right there! did you get a ds-3025 form when you did your k1 medical? i think its one year from when they received your aos application but i could be wrong.

Yes I received vaccination form during k1 process which I submitted with AOS application. So now I am confused what counts for USCIS. Definitely it’s the slowest field office

oh ok good. i would definitely like to know the answer to this as well as i will eventually get to the interview later on.
