Hi! I was just wondering if I would be allowed to accompany my brother for his visa interview at USEM tomorrow. He's 17. Do we need still need an SPA? Or an affidavit of consent? I read somewhere that minors could go to the embassy alone and they can also be accompanied if they wished to. I am his biological sister and I already have my us visa, he got delayed because he underwent sputum exam/

Please do reply! His interview is at 8:45 AM

Sorry  read your post an hour late for the interview.  Hope all went well.   I do know for guardians an affidavit of guardianship is required, but for a sibling to just tag along... you might not be allowed inside the embassy.   Do come back and update us to how things went for you.

**Guardian Accompanying Minor to Interview:  You will need an affidavit of guardianship in the guardian's name stating what capacity they have.  Signed and notarized.

Thank you so much! It went well. USEM didn’t ask who i was when we were lining up, but we were asked during the pre screening and interview.

His visa is on hold because we are missing a form: I-864W

Do you guys have any idea how long that would take?

The consul told us that he is approved but is put on hold since we are missing this form. Anyway, we already filled it up as per instruction at the releasing counter, we can download the form, fill it up our own (no need for our petitioner to send it to us from the US) and drop it off the nearest 2go branch.

That is cool that you were allowed in.  :)

Once the embassy receives the document from 2G0 it can still be a couple weeks before the visa is issued.  You can track progress on the CEAC website.

Thank you so much! I sent the document already. I know it’ll take about a week or two but i really hope it’s less than that so we can move forward to peer counseling
