I just heard someone saying that AP is routinely approved for AOS filers.

So if I filed AP only, would it be automatically approved by a machine with light speed?

It is routinely approved based on AOS so long as the form is filed properly. But it won't go any faster for approval...still 4+ months.

Timelines:

Hi,

I have found mixed information on various sites so Creating this forum to discuss the processing times and case movements for Advance Parole and EAD when filing for adjustment of status.

Does USCIS still hold that '90 days processing' for EAD/AP ? or has it increased over the last few months?

Anyone has received the AP in less than 90 days here?

Its been more than 70 days for me today and I have started worrying a little. (Travel issues, and I need a job :( )

Many people in these forums abandon their profiles when they get their final cards or dont update it regularly so I dont expect those timelines to be very accurate.

Please reply if the you adjusted status and filed EAD/AP and how did your processing go?

Thanks all and all the best!

We are on day 130 and still no EAD!  We called USCIS last Friday. Talked to a very unfriendly person!  He told us to call back in 2 weeks. 😴 Very frustrating to say the least.

Thanks! Good to know that we are not sacrificing the time for applying for an EAD :)

Out of curiosity, can anyone clarify the following...

  • Are EAD and AP adjudicated by MSC or local offices?
  • For K-1 visa holders, which office decides whether someone needs to have an interview? MSC or local offices?
  • For those who do not need interview, would their cases still be sent to local offices?

We are on Day 123.  We raised an SR and they initially said they would get back to us within five days.  A week later, we called to ask what was going on and they said, "It now takes 30 days for us to process SR's.  Call us back in a month."  We contacted our congressman and he said, "It's currently taking 6 months to process EAD's.  Contact me again when you have reached 180 days."  We are so frustrated because we see people here on Visa Journey who have applied after us getting their EAD's.  It seems that some of us are just stuck in a slow track.

My case was received Sept 22, 2017 but haven’t heard anything yet.

I am a little confused because I called USCIS customer service mid December, and they told me they were working on Sept 8 cases (which got me excited). However, I called again today (about one month later) and was told they are working on Aug 1 cases. Not quite sure why it backtracked.

I made an an infopass appointment on Dec 18, and was told I should be hearing something First week into the New Year. That didn’t happen.

I tried creating a SR, but was denied.

Anyway, based on this forum looks like it’s taking 120 to 140 days which means I still have some time to go. I hate the waiting game!

Can you kindly share the email address you contact to get a quick response on your EAD

If anyone knows the email address to contact to inquire about the EAD/AP, can you please share?

I have seen comments from a few people saying their EAD/ AP were approved after emailing.

I am also waiting for my EAD/AP. The thing is that I have made full plans to arrange my marriage abroad and we are travelling internationally to the Netherlandson May 9th. Feb 1st is when I got my NOA1. I am afraid since it took so long with other people that my EAD/AP will not come on time before my travel.

I am currently on a J-1 Visa that I also need to renew when I go back to my country at the consulate in Amsterdam. I also got a job extension for another year that states my start date is May 1st 2018. Should I expedite for work reason (severe financial loss), or should I not do that?

Please advice, thank you
