Hi @PygmyPuff and @Yu&M

What do you think would happen if someone has had chicken pox as a child and therefore doesn’t need the varicella jab?

(Chicken pox is on my medical summary)

Would immunity be reflected in the vaccination report they give you?

The medical questionnaire you will be given at Knightsbridge asks if you have ever had chicken pox. If you say yes, then they give you a waiver and you're good to go for having immunity owing to chicken pox history.

Thanks for that @Yu&M I even remember my mother sending me for a playdate with the kid who had chicken pox, just so I got it whilst I was a kid!  :jest:

It seems they are more permissive there then, because my nurse said the 'because I say so' or showing a scar wouldn't work, so I needed either a medical record or the serology test :P

Probably they are still going to check your medical history?

From what I have read, they take your word for it in London. Probably because we get a waiver for it not being "routinely available" anyway. But yes, would definitely be good to hear from someone who ticked yes without it being on their medical summary :) .

Yes, sorry to pipe on about it but I am needle phobic!

My concerns are at AOS stage once in the USA when you have to present the DS 3025 form and the varicella shot isn't recorded on it... How does immunity get recorded on the DS 3025 form?

Oh no it's okay, I completely understand.... though I don't fear needles at all haha. But Keep asking as many questions as you need answered. Here, i have posted a picture of mine from knightsbridge. This is what they give you for your AOS. If you notice, there is a list of vaccines. Under varicella, there is both the vaccine and the option for history. So if you had a history they will tick it off for history (and you're good).

If you neither have a history nor the vaccine, in the UK (like me), they will add the letter "D". If you look at the footnote of the page, it says "waiver legend". The waiver "D" is for  "not routinely available". Now, if you look at the lower part of my form, they ticked US Vaccinations complete and I have a "blanket waiver". Which means I have passed all vaccination requirements. Just for further comfort, the stamp they back page of the DS3025, that is the image you see that says "this K-nonimmigrant applicant did receive the required vaccines and the US vaccination requirements are complete..." - this is a stamp and it is dated as well.

Hope this helps.
