Yes it's not a problem. I lived with my parents when I filed the K1 visa for my husband. If any of the children/adults in the house are listed as his dependents when he filed his taxes, it could effect the income level he will need to petition you, but living with parents has no other effect on the K1 petition.

May 23, 2017: NVC case number assigned

July 10, 2017: Interview
July 14, 2017: Visa in hand
July 27, 2017: POE at ORD

January 24, 2018: EAD/AP Combo Card in hand

August 9, 2018: AOS Interview (Approved)

August 9, 2018: "Card in Production"

August 16, 2018: Green card in hand

No worries.  That is very common the Phil.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

 

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

 

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

He will need a steady source of income but other than that it does not matter who he lives with.

 

Where in the Philippines are you from and what state is he?

I'm in Washington and she is in Mindanao.

Are there additional checks because of the situation in Mindanao?  Have you noticed any increased scrutiny?

Thank you. The money he earns is only for himself. None of the children nor adults are his dependents. I hope his income can be okay for him to file. He works extra so I think it will do.

The war or battle in Marawi  City is just about done. It only affected a very small area.

There are checkpoints if you travel throughout the island but other than that not much different than before.

You are much much more likely to be injured walking across the street there then by any terrorist threat but always helps to be on alert.

It hasn’t been in the news here lately but I knew it wasn’t over. Since I hadn’t heard anything I was wondering what the situation was.
