EAD Denied due to incorrect payment amount/no payment

Help please!

I mailed my AOS/EAD/AP together with two money orders totalling $1225.

I received two receipts for the AOS and AP confirming they are being processed but the EAD NOA states my application is denied due to incorrect payment or no payment at all.

Can someone please help me with this? I was under the impression if you filed the EAD with the AOS then no additional payment was required on top of the $1225 as per the K1 guide...

Note: Applicants filing for this benefit at the same time or while an Adjustment of Status (I-485) application is pending are not required to pay any fee as it was included in the "total cost" of the I-485.

Omg not this again... it's really annoying when they are just incompetent.

This started happening to a few ppl here and there earlier this year. They are probably using some less informed staff at the receiving site.

Resend the i765 with the rejection notice and copy of i485 NOA1. Print out the instructions that say it's free and highlight and put on top and send.

I'm sorry for your delay.

I totally agree with you...looks like the staff need extra training !

When i went to get the vaccination record done by a USCIS certified CS he wanted me to get the physical test done again. I told him i only need the vaccination page to be updated and since am on a K-1 visa my medical exam is good for 1 year. He started saying i do this on daily basis and i know what am doing and just before things could turn into a argument, I had to pull up the instructions page of I-693 on my phone and i showed it to him and then he's like oh i didnt read that part !!! i didnt know what to say..anyways..... @Isabella_NZ yea.. re-send the application with the NOA1 of I-485, instructions page highligted and the rejected notice copy as said by @Suss&Camm

Uggggh seriously??!!! Im not even going to use anymore of my energy to rant about this....

Just so i make sure I get this correct, can someone please specifically tell me where on the instructions it states that it is free when it is filed together?

Also, they only mailed me back my form, obviously there was other attachments included with said form, should i reprint and resend those again as well?

Hi,

I would include all of the evidence you needed to include with it again just to be sure that it will not be rejected again.

P.S. Your application was rejected, not denied. :)

Gosh what an absolute pain in the a$$

Thanks for the information.

I am currently waiting a callback from a manager at USCIS which I know will not solve this problem but it may make me feel a little better to vent and so they become aware of the mistakes the staff are making.

Keep breathing.. you can do this 😲

Thank you. I just spoke with a 'manager' aka someone else at USCIS and they basically just said sorry not sorry, we cant control the staff at the lockboxes who do the document checking etc.

He did suggest writing a cover letter requesting that the application be expedited (as it was their error) and calling once I get the NOA receipt to follow up. Worth a shot.

Also, which USCIS office do I put on the Employment Authorisation form??? I live in Florida and the documents are being mailed to Chicago but is that the office i detail on the form?

No worries, I had this with my AP.

I called USCIS and I was told to send a new form AND a copy of the NOA1 of the I-485/I-130. I also send a short letter explaining that the costs are waived when I-485/I-130 are submitted. I received my AP within 6 weeks after.

Also, they should have put in the address you need to send it too. I believe on the bottom of the green form, or letter. Sorry it's been awhile ago so don't recall the exact details but it has to be there.
