How will new travel ban affect citizenship application?

I'm a US citizen by birth and we applied for my spouse's citizenship in the spring of 2016 & we are still waiting for the interview. We're wondering how the new travel ban issued yesterday will affect citizenship applications for people from Iran? Is the ban going to prevent people from those countries from obtaining citizenship?

You applied for citizenship or a visa in 2016 and have not heard anything as of now?

They could be holding on to the petitions from specific countries, who knows?

My sister was done with citizenship last week - took a bit over 6 months from filing.

Did you consider asking your congressman or senator's immigration liaison about the status of the case?

Have you requested information from USCIS? Schedule an infopass? They may have mail you the information. Sometimes mail gets lost.

Sorry, did he apply in Feb. of 2016 or 2017?

Thanks for the response.

it was Feb 2017 ,, his case took 7 months exactly  ,, I still remember he was worried because he applied 3 days exactly after the first Ban took place but everything went smooth with him ,, he applied in Virginia
