Hello everyone,

My husband is deployed/PCS for 9 months to Poland. He won't come back until August 2018.

I just sent my AOS packet and received NOA1 3 days ago

It's kinda early because I haven't even done the biometric appointment but I'm already worried about the interview

But has anyone gone to the AOS interview without the petitioner? What is the experience? It's always better to have the hubby with me. I know I would be so nervous. I called USCIS military helpline and they said I just need to bring a copy of his deploying order and I can attend the interview alone.

Came to the US under F-1 visa in July 2014, married to an active duty soldier in April 2017, AOS from F-1 visa.

9/13/2017 - AOS packet was delivered (I-130, I-145, I-131) (day 0)

9/14/2017 - Receipt # received through text and email - NOA (day 1)

9/19/2017 - Checks were cashed (day 6)

9/23/2017 - NOA1 hard copies received (day 10)

9/29/2017 - Biometric appointment letter received (appointment was set on 10/13) (day 16)

Typically, the petitioning spouse needs to be at the interview. However, if there is a good cause for them not being there (like in your case), then showing evidence of it is perfectly fine and not a reason for concern. :)

Thank your husband for his services to this great country. You will be fine, you might be surprise he might even complete his deployment before your AOS interview, at least with this slow pace of USCIS and your field office being in Texas too.... But nothing to worry about....
