Change of address for both petitioner and beneficiary?

Hi all,

Two questions:

  1. When changing address online (here), do you have to submit the change of address forms for both the petitioner and applicant (beneficiary) or does it suffice to submit for only one of those two?
  2. When I click the link above (again here), is there a special place to submit the form AR-11? Or does my submission of changes for the relevant pending applications/petitions using our receipt numbers represent also submitting the AR-11?

Thank you!

1.  The beneficiary must file form AR-11.   As for the USC (petitioner), read below from the USCIS website:

U.S. Citizens

U.S. citizens are not required to file a Form AR-11 and can make a change of address on pending cases via our Online Change of Address page or by calling 1-800-375-5283. For TTY (deaf or hard of hearing) call: 1-800-767-1833. U.S. Citizens who do not have an application or petition pending with USCIS are only legally required to notify USCIS of a change of address if they have previously submitted a Form I-864 on behalf of someone who has become a permanent resident. If you have previously submitted a Form I-864 for someone who immigrated to the U.S., you must complete a Form I-865 within thirty days of the completion of your move.

2.  You submit the AR-11 online---once it is submitted you will receive immediate confirmation that the address change has been accepted by USCIS.  You do not have to do anything else as far as the AR-11 is concerned regarding your pending applications.  If need be, the USC files the I-865 form.

Ask the petitioner to change address and you change your own too. This is to avoid lost of important documents. You have to change address for all pending applications you have with USCIS as a change of address on 1 does not automatically apply to all. Each application is treated differently....

If you submit your change of address online, it is as good as the AR-11. They are the same thing.

How can I make a Petitioner's address change?  AR-11 is for Alien only, I believe.

(On the online form - the citizenship part doesn't contain USA.)

Thanks for the reply!  Sorry I didn't read your first response carefully.  It's such a bummer the Petitioner *still* needs to mail (ie, posted back in 2010

)

I know...it is odd they haven't released filing online for the petitioner side of the change of address form.  Perhaps it's two different departments.

Thank you all for your responses, greatly appreciated!

I submitted the change of address online for my wife (for forms I-485 and I-765), for myself (I-130), and I mailed in the I-865 as well. I think this should take care of all of our obligations - any comments/concerns are welcome if you see something wrong/missing.

Really grateful for all of your help! :D

Don't forget to inform USPS of your address change...good back up to have so your mail gets forwarded incase anyone (not just USCIS) sends something to the old address.
